I thought Dice-K pitched great except for that one inning (which wasn't even that bad). The offense just isn't pulling their weight now a days:confused: . Also remember Wakefield is on mound today against Blue Jays at 7:35. Lets hope he keeps up his stellar start, and GO SOX!!!:rocker:

Losses like that start turning into wins reeeeal quick.

We need to get all the wins we can while the Yankees starting rotation is damaged, so when they start making their run we already have a solid lead.

Even if that staff is 100% healthy, it's not all that good anymore. Wang's the only consistent starter they have, and he's not carrying a team far by himself. Their wins will come off of their bats, which are admittedly scary.

poor Daisuke, Tito rests the only guy hitting well on the night he starts.

The good news is that Manny and Papi will get much better.

The bad news is that Coco, Tek, and Pedroia may not.

Thankfully you don't need an elite offense if you have great pitching and Manny and Ortiz can do a lot to compensate for a couple bums.

It's a long season, let's see where this goes.

Wakefield pitched great yesturday, and I for one think he is showing excellent pitches and control this season.

Well, Mussina was 5th in the AL in ERA last year, which I think too few people remember. He was almost a half run lower than Schilling, and Sox fans are always quick to point out his "sub-four" ERA (3.97). Also, Pettitte is by no means chopped liver. He won 14 games last year, and even though his ERA was 4.20 for the season, it was somewhere near 3 in the second half. The Yankees pitching is delicate, but it's not devoid of talent. Their front 3, even 4 if we'e talking healthy (that of course is the only question regarding thier rotation, health) is competitive with the best in the league.

Adequate? Yes.

Competitive with the best in the league? Uh, no.
