Taking ownership of failure is the first step toward making himself an asset for 2017. I think he will be and we need him. He may play into the decision making going on right now this offseason. If Logan Ryan goes hopefully he will take advantage of the opportunity.

Cmon Cyrus. Let it go and show us what you can do.

Hes a stand-up guy. Wont be the first rookie who struggled. But hes got talent and a great attitude. Could be a total turnaround season for him. especially if ryan goes Pats are gonna need him

It's weird, on one hand I'm glad he's owning it and giving the appearance of a guy who owns his situation and will work his ass off to improve. OTOH, I feel kinda bad for him. He was bad this past year, and hurt the team more often than not when on the field, but he still worked hard and contributed and played a role on a SB-winning team. He was a part of it. I think there's such a thing as getting too into your own head too much, and at a certain point it becomes counterproductive and self-fulfilling.

I hope he doesn't cross that line, because I think he could be a good player for us and because it generally sucks to see people who are working hard be so down on themselves. Plenty of players have fixed ball security issues, and even if he doesn't it's not like that precludes him being a good cornerback. We've had lots of good players who didn't look great their rookie year, and I hope Belichick makes sure he has that kind of positive perspective while working to be the best corner he can be.

Never seen BB give a player that many chances like he game Cyrus Jones. It was surreal, I was wondering what he had to do before being made inactive. I guess giving the Ravens hope was the last straw, noway we were going to take him to Denver.

He crossed that line long ago and seems he is not able to find a way back on his own.
That was actually a red flag on his draft profile. The boy needs some professional help. Hope he can understand that and takes it. Its a long offseason.

He can possibly be a great asset for Pats . but not with this mental disposition

Pretty obvious why, and yea can't wait to see this Cyrus

“It was hell for me,” he said. “That’s the only way I can describe it. I didn’t feel I deserved to be part of anything that was happening with the team. I felt embarrassed that these people probably thought they wasted a pick on me.”

We did.

BUST.
I'm getting kinda tired of his woe is me routine.

He had a terrible rookie year. Move on already.

It's very simple. Perform, get cut or quit.

Let's just hope that he learns from his mistakes, works hard this off season on holding onto the ball and comes to training camp
next year with a great attitude looking to help the team

He should attach himself to Malcolm Butler's hip this offseason. Do as Malcolm does, and I bet he'll make great strides going into year 2, just like MB did.

We expect a seem less transition from such a heralded program such as Alabama to the NFL... but some times are expectations are too high, he really crapped the bed often and glad to see he is at least talking the talk.. proof will come next September.

See what he does with his self anger.. it will either mobilize him or turn him into a memory..

Kevin Faulk and his fumbleitis, the wasted pick of Marcus Cannon both come to mind..

Maybe it's a cultural thing. But this interview was what i needed to hear. If you can't own your mistakes i don't know a way to improve. Plus the fact that he is a CB that can be a returner. Let's use him as a CB i think the kid can play.

Am I the only one who wish Cyrus kept that to himself??? Patriot Nation is well aware of his timely fumbles last season. Rookies have growing pains but it's nothing to beat yourself up for Cyrus. I hope he's not a wack job like D Easley.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Didn't see your post before I posted after reading CB definitely should be an early selection. Wouldn't want to have count on Cyrus's doubtful disposition going forward.
