The FDA likely required a more stringent test, one that would ensure accuracy. I have heard that the WHO test had a 50% false negative rate, which means that half of the people tested will get the wrong result. In other words, their testing kits could be useless.
Reality is the FDA fv^ked up.

More propaganda from you isn't helping. Go to your alt-right forum where you can spew this misinformation.

It’s still in the trunk of my car.
I watched a YouTube video that made it seem like it was simple… But I’m not a big fan of finding the correct breaker and re-doing wires.

Do you have a main breaker? Shut the whole house down.

Dr Fauci said, if everyone felt that they were overreacting by following all the guidelines and the result of that deaths and illness were much, much less than indicated, he would take it. Love that bastard.
Absolutely, that is the one guy involved that I trust. He's not going to be pressured into saying some nonsense. He's been saying for weeks there isn't enough testing.

I'd like to know more about the factors behind this. It's easy to just say the surging veins of nationalism were at play here but I always remember the line "most regulations are written in blood."

There may have been entirely valid reasons for us to come up with our own, 2 hour slower test. I'm not trying to be an enlightened centrist, because I'm not, but I just want my outrage to be about things that are grounded in facts.

I don't have a gun...but I have a little league sized Louisville slugger bat....perfect for close quarter combat. I'd be cracking knee caps, testicles, and finishing people off with a skull crushing blows...
This makes it sound like you're 3 feet tall.

I'm a Boston native but live in the Deep South. Bible Belt.
I saw a stat a few years ago that the highest per capita porn consumption by US states: top 10 were ALL southern states.
I always take glee in reminding my southern friends.

Utah is #1 in porn consumption. It's also the most religious state in America, also one of the most conservative, anti-LGBT, etc. etc.

No coincidence.

Feel like I’m in that movie Bird Box.

Many test kits released by the CDC on Feb. 4 were defective, there have been reports that early Chinese tests may have had a false negative rate as high as 50%, which may have given the FDA some hesitation to use them.

But instead of encouraging university labs and private companies to help with test development, the FDA withheld permission for such work until Feb. 29. That delay is unacceptable, especially when you compare it to how quickly industry and academia came together in South Korea.

NYC schools closed starting tomorrow.

Billionaire from China confirms the new world order is the same as the old world order: money.

I’m 57 years old and over the last 4 months I’ve been having tests on a growth in one of my lungs. In February, a PET scan diagnosed it as cancerous. On March 5th, they went down my throat with a scope and collected secretions around the area but could not get a sample from the growth itself because they were afraid the lung would collapse.

The pathology test on the secretions says the growth is not cancerous which was also the opinion of the pulmonary specialist who did the scope test. That’s naturally a great relief. Up next is a needle biopsy to get a sample of the growth to confirm it’s not cancerous and do other tests to see what it might be. The needle test has an even higher risk of collapsing my lung than the bronchoscopy which it why the scope was done first. But, it must be done because the PET scan wouldn’t have shown it as positive if it wasn’t cancerous, an infection of some type or an autoimmune problem. By the way, aside from an irregular cough, I have no symptoms of anything and feel generally okay.

All of this is unnerving enough as it is. But, then you throw in that I’m living and working in the midst of a respiratory virus pandemic, and it is even more so. I’m not sure my chances are good for fighting it off if I should contract it. I can’t just tell my employer that I’m just going to stay home and protect myself. I need the job to pay my bills and, as important, I need the health insurance I have from my job to treat whatever it is that I have. These are just scary days.
Good luck Ken. You’re a survivor.

What, you think it just started (in the US) a few weeks ago?

Also, for people bringing up testing, I cannot believe that doctors, with all their experience and medical knowledge, are SO solely dependent on testing devices to provide treatment to their patients. Are they not able to diagnose symptoms and base on their highly educated guess, determine what to do?

They could just use WebMD right? :D
