The Buccaneers, who claimed Haynesworth off waivers from the Patriots in November, released him Wednesday.

"I appreciate Albert playing for us after some key injuries this past season," said Bucs GM Mark Dominik in a statement from the team. "He was very professional and we now wish him all the best as he moves forward."

The Pats went 8-0 after letting him go and the Bucs went 0-8 after picking him up

Lets hope the Jets grab him

still can't believe somebody wanted to save us of that $$ commitment we made to him.

As we used to say in B-school: "You cracked the case!"

Sign the beast

Shocking, simply shocking.

With the way his contract was structured it wouldn't have mattered how well Haynesworth played last year - he was going to be cut regardless.

Haynesworth let his ego get in the way of a smart business decision; he was more interested in the headline making record deal than in how much of that money he would ever see. His agent was more than willing to oblige, as he got to use that as marketing for when it came time for other players to choose what agent they would sign with.

must be Take out the Trash day down in Tampa!

Hey...Hey...Hey...let cut Albert....Albert is like a School going on a Field trip he has no class.

I still wonder if this guy can ever figure it out. He was a fat mess even after weeks of practice. The guy got his money and never looked back.

As Marvin Hagler said 'It's real hard to get up at 5am & run 5 miles when you're in a 4 post bed wearing silk pyjamas'

Still what if he could come back and play a similar role to Warren or Ellis with much more upside....

Fat Albert... it was nice knowing yee.

Funny how we all sit here and ridicule the guy calling him all kind of names, when in reality he has collected triple digit millions the past several years and has dogged it all along.

Who is laughing more or laughing last?...us or Al?

Seems like Haynesworth's most lasting contribution since he left Tennessee is that he was so bad that even Daniel Snyder had to step back and question the wisdom of giving huge money to UFAs. That's quite a feat.

The only person being ridiculed for how much money Haynesworth made is Dan Snyder.

Albert won't be laughing last. Who actually thinks he'll wisely invest all that money? He'll be broke in no time, and then what's he going to do?

He'll go shopping for jewelry with Allen Iverson and Antoine Walker!
