Brian Billick's Top 100 players heading in the NFL Draft Updated 4/13.

I'm obviously in the room with a professional who knows much, much more than I in evaluating players. Andrew Luck is number one and Billy Winn is number 100. The list is definitely worth a look as a touchstone what a true NFL front office guy is doing.

I'm glad to see the Oklahoma LB Ronnell Lewis (42) is rated higher than Boise State's Shea McClellin (47).

Bruce Irvin is way, way down. ¡Que lastima!

This is the best thing I've seen from a former coach to highlight the values of the players since Bill Parcells' board last year.

Here Billick discusses New England. Fox Sports Video | Billick: Patriots draft needs

He has us taking Nick Perry or Janoris Jenkins or WR Kendall Wright.

He makes a dig at us having trouble with the Ravens. And he makes a mistake if Coples goes around #11 like he's listed that we'd need to give up our firsts and seconds.

"24. Nick Perry, DE, USC: Scheme diverse and could play anywhere along the defensive front. His versatility reminds me of Adalius Thomas."

Do not want. Ray Lewis called Adalius Thomas like it was - "He's only good because he got to play with us."

I think Perry is a better pure pass rusher than Thomas. Toward the end of his time in NE, we found out that Thomas was much more of a blitzer than a pass rusher, a guy who could take what the OL gave him, but couldn't line up opposite a tackle and beat him one-on-one with any success.

What about Nick Perry is unattractive to you? Hopefully it wasn't a short blurb from Billick suggesting that his size and versatility is similar to Thomas.

Every game I watch of his is impressive. He does so many things right. I'm surprised Upshaw is ranked ahead of him. He's my top rusher in this class. He has a good variety of moves, and is powerful out of his set.

If Jenkins and Perry were to come our way I'd cry;)

Guy worries me a little bit. Don't like the rumors going around he doesn't want to be versatile.

Good read from a guy who broke down the film vs California very well. Martin also held him to 3 tackles over in a 3 OT game . So does this guy shrivel up against the big boys and beat up on sub par college tackles and guards? I don't know, he has got some good film on his side to support he is a good prospect. I'm sure BB will connect the dots in the interview, workout and film room.

I value the guys opinion who wrote this but even though that was the least productive game of his (which i had seen a few times), the constant pressure is always there. Now if I think about all the edge rushers in the league, none of them dominate in production all the time and thru can be game planned for. His overall video suggests he is a beast. However I'm open to differences in opinion;)

Perry is OK, but Jenkins & Wright in the first or any round is absolutely awful.
There'll be cleaner DBs avail. at the end of the 2nd & in the 3rd & 4th rounds.
And if we need to replace Welker next year, then we can do it next year, not this year.

There won't be any corners as talented as Jenkins either. Maybe they're cleaner. Maybe not.

I can guarantee Janoris Jenkins isn't the only one of the 250+ draftees who likes marijuana. He might be the highest profile guy who got caught, but I'm not willing to cross such a talented player off the board because of it.

As for Wright, he's no Welker replacement - he's a Branch replacement.

We might have bigger needs, but we could do a whole lot worse than adding Jenkins and Wright to this team in the 2nd round.

Cleaner, but nowhere near as good. I'm not a true fan of Jenkins' personality, but most corners are a bit ****y anyways. This locker room is strong enough to handle Jenkins. He'll mind his manners and do what he's told.

In the meantime, we get a top cover corner who can afford us to get a FS out of our current roster.

No we can't. I'm not saying it has to be Kendall Wright, but if we have to replace Welker, it can't be next year.

Jarius Wright and Ryan Broyles are my Welker replacements.

Jenkins is so fluid, it's almost unnatural. Against elite NFL-caliber competition, he excelled, in spite of his size. I would love to watch this kid play for the New England Patriots.

People can compare him to Pacman Jones or whoever they want. But if you watch interviews with the kid, you come away with a different impression. Pacman Jones is a violent, anti-social being, who had no real love of football. I don't get that impression with Jenkins, at all.

And folks should consider if maybe all this negative press on him is coming out so openly b/c some teams are just as happy to knock his stock down and get him themselves later in the draft. Team scouts and front office men rarely share their opinions on players out of altruism, after all.

I don't get the Pacman Jones reference really. Jones was a different issue and when he got drafted, he continued to get into gun fights and whatever else. Now we're comparing guns vs doobies...

Regardless, Bill has good connections to find out the truth about this kid, and based upon McCourty's dramatic regression at cornerback, we need another starter there. This kid is far and away the best prospect outside of Claiborne in my opinion, and I don't think his character is going to hold him back.

I wouldn't be taking advice from that smug, self promoting, Patriot hater. Wasn't he the guy who rated Jamarcus Russell as the best QB prospect he'd ever seen? The fact he continues to rate Brockers and Poe as highly as he does DESPITE noting that Poe has a bad motor and Brockers could just as easily bust as boom tells you his picks have about the same value as any of ours.

As for AThomes, People forget that he had a more than solid year in 2007 and was our defensive MVP in the superbowl. He was also having a great year when he broke his arm. Obviously his last year here was a disaster both on the field and in the locker room. But prior to it we got what we paid for. He wasn't the total bust that the revisionists would like you to think

Jenkins isn't lasting to the Patriots unless Dallas has stopped coveting him in the last 2 months.. Which I haven't heard otherwise.

Also, Jenkins doesn't pass the sniff test for the Pats in terms of his background.. Myra may be gone, but she left her imprint.

I just don't see a place for a WR on this team. As much as I'd like Kendall Wright or Stephen Hill, I don't see a spot. Not with Welker, Lloyd, and Johnson guaranteed positions and Gonzalez, Branch, Edelman battling it out for the other two spots..

BTW, considering all that has come out about how Urban Meyer covered for Spikes, Hernandez, etc, the fact that Meyer jettisoned Jenkins should speak volumes..

It would...if it were Meyer. It's not. Will Muschamp jettisoned Jenkins because he got arrested for pot right after the coaching switch.

I like Jenkins a lot. He reminds me a lot of Brent Grimes with his style, and you can't say enough about how he performs against (Good) NFL talent in AJ Green, J. Jones etc. That's the type of player he'd be asked to cover here, and he just shut them down cold.

I'd take him after 25. (hoping that Brockers is there at 25 for Denver, I don't see CB as a huge need for Houston right now as they need another WR to play alongside A. Johnson)

At this point I think Jenkins is suspect as a prospect. It's not only that he has been arrested several times, failed a drug-test and was dismissed from Florida.

One of our favourite targets to ridicule, A. Cromartie, for being "Ochodad" with like 7 different women shares something with Jenkins.

If we draft Jenkins, we are looking at "Quadradad" with 3 different women.

I'd think all things combined it paints a pretty clear picture of his decision making off the field. I don't think it bodes well for Jenkins in the long run.

That wasn't Meyer. It was the guy who replaced him-can't remember his name.

As soon as I heard him say to use both firsts, seconds and a third to address immediate needs, the rest of his analysis lost all credibility. I like BB's ability to compare possible trades with the value of the BPA.
