Wasn't it in Buffalo where David Patten recovered a fumble while unconscious? Stuff happens.
It was one of the biggest wins of 2001. The Pats won in OT after Patten caught a ball along the right sideline late in the game, and for some unknown reason decided to challenge the upcoming hit from one of the Buffalo players. Patten lost the collision and was knocked out cold on the hit and fumbled as he fell half in and half out of bounds. But because the ball contacted Patten's leg as it rolled over to a Bills player, the ball was ruled dead and it was Pats ball for a... FIRST DOWN.
It was one of the most hard hitting games that I've ever seen
