They also got rid of Cary Williams and Trent Cole today; they might be nearly $50mil under from what I've seen; Among other possibilities, I think they're going to play seriously for some combination of Maxwell, Revis, and McCourty.
It really sucks for the Pats that quality QB's are so easy to find.Just posted this in another thread, but it's a better fit here...
Look at what Rex already has in place...
Quality defense
Multiple running backs
Cap space
Functional TE (Chandler)
Legit deep threat for P.A. passing game (Watkins)
Legit second receiver (Woods)
If he gets a QB, that Buffalo team's going to be a real pain in the ass.
It worked for the Patriots in 2014.Ah the old buying a secondary strategy, which worked out so well for them in 2011.
Worked pretty well for us in 2014. Getting McCourty and Maxwell would be comparable to Revis and Browner in some respects. It's Kelly's show down there now, not Roseman's; it's an unknown how he's going to make his moves.Ah the old buying a secondary strategy, which worked out so well for them in 2011.

Shady is long in the RB tooth. He also has a weird personality and gets frustrated with losing, unless Andy Reid is coaching him. I'm not too worried about this.I'm not suggesting that Alonso won't be great because his potential is all pro but man did you have to send Shady to our division? Especially stings because i wanted that guy getting handoffs from Brady for years.
I think the Bills with Rexy were the biggest threat in the division before this McCoy trade went down, and no matter what happens they're gonna be a tough matchup. This Bills team is literally putting Rex back into that 2009-2010 situation, before that Jets team fell apart.I don't recall Ryan needing a quality QB in order to get to back-to-back AFCCGs in 2009-2010, do you?
Yes, but CJ Spiller is bad. Shady McCoy is (probably) still very good, for a short time at least, and the always underrated Fred Jackson keeps getting older.
However, Alonso is a young, gamechanging player on his rookie contract at a position that is (relative to running back) difficult to find difference makers at. Meanwhile, McCoy has a lot of wear on him, though he'll only be 27 at season's star.
Still, Bills... what are you doing??
