I assume that most people here check out Reiss' Sunday column, but thought this was worth flagging

Belichick has (rightly) gotten a lot of flak for various things in recent years, but this approach is exactly the right one, and I'm guessing maybe not that common. Well done by him

Definitely credit Bill for that one. Rare to see that approach. I am sure Uche really appreciated it. I kind of have a hard time seeing them keep him, but maybe he won’t cost as much as I expect. He’s good when paired with Judon, but not a great lead guy.

Pittsburgh would be a great fit for him.

This is what really jumped out at me.

"It was the first time I really had some open, transparent dialogue with Bill. He was very honest. He kept things very real with me.

Also Bill clearly is uncomfortable. I don't rememebr any past reporting on him handling potential trade situations like this.

Interesting takeaway but ok. Sounds like you have an axe to grind. You might want to turn your internet and TV off when we start winning with BB again.

Just because it wasn't reported doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I am curious as to why you think how Bill handled the situation means he's uncomfortable?

Hahahahaahahah. Good one.

Simply because it's not his MO. Never was one for such communication.

Last couple years and really since 2020 he has done so many things out of character for him.

Uche was and is what he was at Michigan: a pin the ears back, get after the QB, third down specialist.

Can he play assignment football? Nope.
Can he hold the edge? Hell , no. Freakin’ WRs like the Cheetah can easily block him.
What about pass coverage? No. He’s short and can’t be trusted with his football intangibles.

What Uche has is speed and the ability to get around the tackle on obvious passing downs.

WTF would you draft a guy like this so high? Second round I remember. And did BB the consummate “I’m smarter than everyone else” hubris move up in the second round to get him like Joeslow Williams?

Remember when Bill had him playing MLB his first two years.

10. Did you know? -- Part II: Last week marked the first time the Patriots lost a game when allowing 10 or fewer points since Sept. 23, 2001, against the Jets, breaking a streak of 89 such games. That 10-3 loss was the game when Tom Brady took over for an injured Drew Bledsoe.

sheeeeeeesh that's some record

He's fell off a cliff this season.. I see him back here on the 'Ole patriots team friendly deal.. I think he's playing though something.. he's been the invisible man lately.

For all those reasons.. and now his disappearing act since judon went down basically... if he sticks around it's going to be a team friendly deal..
