Bill Belichick Press Conference Transcript 10/21

Read the whole thing: he's in teacher mode. Goes way deep on Noll and Pitt... over his allotted time. Then...

"After the lengthy exchanges on the Steelers, Belichick realized he had taken up his allotted time for the press conference. So in a rare move, he decided to stay late and answer a few more questions. The PR staff stepped in to cut the conference off about 21 minutes in, to which Belichick interjected, “I’ll take a couple more if you want. I know I had a couple long answers there. That’s usually a problem with me.”

LMAO :D Classic.

Honestly needs to be like this more often he's so much smarter than every other coach he has so much to share.... share it with us like he did today

That was great, I could listen to that guy talk football indefinitely and not grow tired of it. Thanks for posting.

Seems like it's all about the quality of questions for Bill. He is always willing to talk football. Ask him some "hot take" media drama and then he clams up.

It shows that when it comes to talking about FOOTBALL, BB can be both engaging and informative. The problem is that most of the mediots he runs into (especially the national types) feel the need to ask questions they KNOW aren't going to be answered like, "How is JG taking being a back up again?" or "What is your offensives strategy this week?", etc. And then they get pissed when BB mumbles and snorts an 5 word dismissive response

Sometimes it's their job to ask certain things that BB doesn't want to answer because he knows that often what he says can be spun in so MANY directions, most of which won't help his team. Thankfully he's built up so much credibility over the years he can get away with it. In fact his disregard for mediots in general has become almost iconic, to the point where reporter will TRY to ask the stupid question that gets shat on, as if it is some kind of a badge of honor.

Fortunately, we just want our team to win. We don't need to know the deep dark secrets of what goes on in the locker room, or who is a good guy and who is an *******. Just go out and win the game and THEN tell us how you did it.

If anyone gets audio / video of this, can you please post it here? Thanks!!

Also get him on a Friday and you'll get the good stuff. Even if you have a good question right after the game, he's not going to answer it. He has to digest what happened in the game first. He knows other teams are watching these press conferences, and he doesn't want to give anyone a competitive advantage by giving a poorly thought out answer that reveals strategy, or by giving the other team bulletin board material like the Steelers DC did this week. That's a lot harder to do when the adrenaline is still flowing on Sunday. Reason #754 why Belichick is the head coaching GOAT.

Bill's Friday pressers are a time warp into football history.

It's like listening to your grandfather talk about the first date with your grandmother or when he was in France during WW2.

You just feel better and more informed than you were 15 minutes prior to listening to it.
