LOL! The Bart Scott saga is getting too funny for words. According to Don Banks, Scott now wants to go back to Baltimore because Tannebaum has already renegged on terms of the deal before it was even signed. Usually Tannebaum renegs on a deal with a player after they have given up money or consessions. Tannenbaum is getting more proactive.

OT: Bart Scott punking the Jets hard

Sorry if this is the wrong forum/already posted, but is anyone else paying attention to the Bart Scott saga down in the meadowlands? He agreed "in principle" to a 40 million contract, and as soon as Jets fans started celebrating he apparently called the Ravens and asked if they wanted to match. Now that they know Ray Lewis doesn't want to play in Bmore anymore, they offered him 42 mil, so it appears he's going to stay with the Ravens.

The Jets will probably get Ray Lewis at the end of the day, but I'd way rather they ended up with an aging guy like that than Bart Scott. I have no doubt Ray Lewis has a few more productive, killer years left in him (Seau played until he was 40 after all), but it's been funny to watch Jets fans freak over this.

Re: OT: Bart Scott punking the Jets hard

According to Don Banks, Mike Tannebaum reneged on some guarantees and Scott decided he didn't want to go there. Too funny.

Now they will have to reward Ray Lewis for his career with the Ravens.

Re: LOL! Tannebaum's history of lying to players now starts before they even sign

ROFL, this is hilarious if it shakes down that Bart Scott returns to the Ravens. The Jets should just up their offer again. They desperately need a guy like Scott to improve their D. Ravens offered 42, Jets should go 45. What else are they going to use that cap space on?

ESPN Radio in New York is just now reporting it's a done deal with the Jets. Same over at Jetsinsider. Who knows?

The question is are they going on the old report or new information. As of an hour ago, SI had the deal done too.

The Jetsinsider site is using information from the nationalfootballpost.com which was from this morning. So it is old news.

ESPN Radio just reported it as OFFICIAL...

    Followed up by Sirius.

It's gold. Bart Scott is a NYJ.

Adam Schefter was on WFAN about a half hour ago and said no deal was signed.

Classy but wrong. The report from earlier in the day was for 5yr. $40 mil. The Jets upped the offer to 6yr and $48mil and closed the deal according to ESPN.

Well, just reporting what was said. With this situation, I won't believe anything until Bart Scott is at either the Jets or Ravens' press conference announcing the deal is official. But I will be happy if scott was able to force the Jets to guarantee more money by going back to the Ravens.
