As a bit of a counterpoint to my previous post, I figure I'd look at Mac Jones' stats over the first third of the season and the middle third (Weeks 1 to 6 vs. 7 to 12).

The most notable difference is clearly the offensive line; their turnaround has led to the offense I think the Pats wanted for Mac all along.

The most interesting difference to me is that it's also led to Jones being a bit more aggressive, but with nearly no difference in his accuracy (he'd have 71.1% with just three more completions!).

Games 1 to 6 (2–4):
150/211 [71.1%]
35.2 attempts/game, 23.3 rushes/game
1472 yards, 6.98 YPA, 6.36 AYPA*
7 TD, 6 INT
89.6 passer rating
–14 DYAR**

Games 7 to 12 (6–0):
118/170 [69.4%]
28.3 attempts/game, 32.7 rushes/game
1378 yards, 8.11 YPA, 8.64 AYPA
9 TD, 2 INT
106.4 passer rating
+316 DYAR

*AYPA, used by Pro-Football-Reference.com, awards 20 yard bonuses for TDs and 45 yard penalties for INTs.
**DYAR is Defense-Adjusted Yards Above Replacement, Football Outsiders' measure of performance. These numbers are the sums of their weekly scores in their Quick Reads column; positive is better.
