What a great morning! Last night we beat a playoff team, on the road, that threw their best at us. It completed the greatest regular season that the sport has ever seen, and we are 2 home games away from heading to the Super Bowl to capture our 4th world championship. Today I'm sitting back and enjoying stress-free NFL action on the Sunday Ticket, and appreciating our accomplishment more and more. I don't understand why there are people who will make an effort to downplay what we've done, or try and take away from the season, every game ending with another notch in the left column.
I do remember this "gameday" in 1993. One of the first full seasons I remember. We played the Dolphins in the season finale, and won 33-27. It was Drew's first year with the Pats, and capped a season-ending 4 game win streak to get us to 5-11. That win kept the previously 9-2 Dolphins out of the playoffs and was cause for celebration as the win streak signified the start of moving in the positive direction. I can't imagine when I was smiling after that game that I would ever see the day when some fans could be pessimistic after finishing 16-0.
