The Patriots announced the signing of guard Dan Connolly, wide receiver C.J. Jones, offensive lineman Jimmy Martin and cornerback Tim Mixon to future contracts today.

Connolly, Jones and Mixon all ended the season as members of the Patriots practice squad.

This means all four players will be with the club once the 2008 league year starts in March.

I couldn't find the Offseason signing thread. Mods if you find it please merge.

All of them were on the practice squad during the 2007 season. I don't know how good or bad they are.

I think CJ could develop into a good kick returner.

Mixon pre injury was considered a better corner than Daymeion Hughes of Colts @ Cal. Probably wont do much but could be an ST replacement for Andrews if he gets cut because the new charges against him. Like Andrews..hes small. he was a good returner in college

Really liked Mixon as a corner coming out of the draft. Very similar player to Hobbs. Small, but physical with great speed and athleticism. Hopefully can be a contributor in sub packages if he develops.

As with all the others, he'll be competing in TC for a bottom roster spot.

Martin wasn't....he was added in January signed to a future contract..

Martin was never on the practice squad. He was actually signed to a future contract a few weeks ago, but the Pats are just officially announcing it now:

I would love to see us have a kick returner who is also competant to play special teams on the defensive side of the units. Maroney did a good job but that's always a gamble using your star RB in the return game.

There are 4 other on the PSqd...LB Bissinger DB Williams WR Childress TE Radar...I wonder if any will be brought back??? I would not mind all being signed..esp Childress and Bissinger...
