Will the Patriots RUN UP THE SCORE on the Giants?

If the Pats can run up the score, they should. But, I really don't think the Jints will rollover. It will be a competitive game probably one of the most exciting and fun to watch. I say the Pats set history by repeating history and win on a FG.

Well, the last time they played in a dome was in Indy on Nov 4th, and that was 24-20. All their games since then have been outdoors in northern cities. The only other two warm weather games they played this year were at Dallas and at Miami, which they won by nearly identical scores (48-27 and 49-28 respectively) in back-to-back October weekends.

Dallas is the only game all year they had to go further than the Midwest, and only those two October games were played in the South. Really, they haven't played much warm weather football (or domed, for that matter) all year.

Not that it was a factor in going 18-0, but of those 18 games only four were played outside of the New England/Mid-Atlantic corridor. (@Miami, @ Dallas, @Indy, @ Cincinnati). I'd say that's pretty nice scheduling.

Thanks for the info.

Actually, only partially accurate. You for got a few.........

Game 1 - v Jets - Blowout - 84 degree sunny.

Game 2 - v Chargers - Blowout - 55 degrees (night game) - clear

Game 3 - v Bills - Blowout - 74 degrees - clear

Game 4 - v Cincinnati - Blowout - 72 degrees - clear

Game 5 - v Cleveland - Convincing win - 56 cool, but not cold - clear

then we move to the Dallas, Miami and Indy games you talked about. There is NO QUESTION, our best games came in the warm weather.

I know most fans like the closer games because they are more "enjoyable" when the Patriots win. I agree with that in some ways. However, I just want them to paste the Giants. I want it to be over early, so I dont have another almost heart attack again. I was pretty freaked out by how the team played the first half, but once the 4th quarter started and we were driving, I started to calm down a little bit.

I hope they score early and often. Put the pressure on little goober to start making mistakes!

If they get up early by a comfortable margin I can see this team moving to a 3 te blocking set for the second half. I don't think they will run up the score unless the Giants show absolutely no way of stopping the pass.

If it happens it won't be running up the score...it'll be a head start on next year.:D

If you read my later post, I noted that I didn't look up the temperature numbers. I'm glad you did and I certainly won't deny your point (especially as it benefits the offenses chances next week), what I was trying to say is they didn't play a lot of games in traditional warm weather stadiums or domes.

Your way is probably a better way of looking at it, to be honest. While you were looking it up, what were the conditions of the Pittsburgh game (blowout). I think if we're looking at the offensive performance, it doesn't really matter what the margin of victory was, just how many the Pats put up.

The team hasn't shown it's capable of running the score in the 2nd half of this year, except maybe the 38 we hung on the Giants... Like some said, a win is a win and if it means we win by one, I will gladly take it. Get the feeling that some of you here are starting to overlook the Giants and onto the trophy presentation..

Guess it depends on your definition of "running the score". The only games this year I thought contained a bit of excessive piling on were the Redskins game and the second Bills game (and even in those cases, hardly unprecedented). Even the late season squeakers against NY, Philly, and Baltimore featured respectable points totals. The Jets game was our lowest points output of the season with 20 points. So really it wasn't the offense that slipped so much as the defense. If the defense plays like it did in the SD game (particularly in the redzone) and the offense plays like it did in the Jax game, you could absolutely see a lopsided score. Not that I'm saying that will happen, but it's something to consider.

I haven't seen running up the score lately. It would be nice to see that in SB.

Anyone know what the highest score ever in a SB? Maybe BB will try and break that one too.:D Sweeeeet!:singing:

I agree. The close games are more exciting, but they're not good for the nerves. I also kind of want the Pats to beat the Giants in a convincing fashion so that the critics can find nothing to detract from the perfect season.

I think the warm weather usually bodes well for the Pats offense. It's been a while since we've seen Moss and the boys run free down the sidelines. I would love to see that against the Giants defense. Test them early, and test them often. Let's see if the Giants secondary can keep up with the Pats thoroughbreds and retriever (that's you welker!)

I happen to think the odds favor the Pats to win a shootout type of game. I just don't see Eli being able to keep up with Brady for 4 quarters, score for score.

Since you are sitting in third place, a TD behind, in the "Predict the Score" contest you will have to put your prediction where your mouth is! :)

Aaah, thanks for reminding me. It's that close huh? Well that should add a little extra excitement to the Superbowl. ;)

The score will be 103 to 6, Patriots. The first hundred+ point game in NFL history.

I really wouldn't mine seeing a 50-3 Pats win.I want the Pats to give the Giants an AFC buttkicking for the ages.
