Usually the taller you are the rarer the skill set of a CB is. 5''9-5'10 is the height of most CBs for a reason. To find the same skills in a guy that is 6'0 is not common and why those guys go in round 1. 6'2 or higher is near unheard of. Usually if you are that height you lack some skill but can use your height and the skill you do have to over come it (Ala Brandon Browner who while not skills used his size to bully CBs and knock them off the line).

Rowe at 6'1 is pretty tall for a CB and it is unlikely he has that natural quick twitch to quickly change direction at that size but I do think if he works on his game he can be a player like Talib who has the size to push a WR around to gain an edge at the line and the skill to hold on to it after he gains the advantage for 4-5 seconds while being very hard to throw over.

I understand that the CB skills sets required are more commonly found in players under 6ft.

My point is because of the body length and arm length, all things being equal I will pick the taller player every time.

Fine. My original point is that if a 6-1 CB has the same cover skills as a 5-10 CB then I will take the taller player.

We have both made our points.
That's like saying you'd rather date a prettier girl if she liked you as much as the homely one.

That makes no sense.

If both girls are hot, give me the taller one because I'm tall and I don't want to dip too far to kiss her. :p

Oh so the "whichever one is higher" thing applied for the 4th as well?
yup, it applied to both rounds:

For the violation of the playing rules and the failure to cooperate in the subsequent investigation, the New England Patriots are fined $1 million and will forfeit the club's first-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft and the club's fourth-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. If the Patriots have more than one selection in either of these rounds, the earlier selection shall be forfeited. The club may not trade or otherwise encumber these selections.

Does J. Jones go since we have an abundance of corners now?
With this trade in the works, I can now see keeping short JJ for his gunner abilities was done, especially as they thought they would keep Daryl Roberts as IR.

Why draft an offensive playmaker for Brady in Round 1 when he makes everyone around him better. Use the #1 to help the team by spending it on a position that isn't going to be fine anyway because of Brady.

Is it fair to ask tom Brady at 40 years old in 2017 to make everyone around him better? Perhaps we should go out and get young highly drafted playmakers to help take a load off an aging Brady so he doesn't have to put the ball on a dime every single time.

Why doesn't Philly want him?

Sure it does. You are ignoring the fact that you sacrifice other corner skills by using a taller player there.
Crissakes Andy. I'm not. I am saying if the coverage skills and quickness is the same I will take the taller player.

I don't know what is fair, I'm just saying that its a reasonable strategy that when you have the GOAT QB who has made a career out of succeeding with lesser talents, that you spend your resources on parts of the team that he cannot elevate.
The point is to win, not to be fair to Brady, or to make his job easier.

OK, I'm done, you just aren't going to get it.

I'm sure Brady and the Pats are really upset that they don't have any playmakers on offense. What are we gonna do???

Fairness has nothing to do with it.

Bills job is to put the best team on the field. His job is not to figure out what is fair/unfair to Tom.

How could Roberts be kept on IR when he wasn't injured?
