Thanks everyone who apologized and all that. I just wanted to get the info out. Like i said in my first post, I would never waste my time and go out of my way to post some fake information just to rile people up. But I guess it's natural for people to think that about just a name they see on here without knowing the person. It's nothing personal because nobody on here knows me...but I do appreciate anyone who has apologized. It's all good.

Side note: I actually tweeted at Reiss a couple days ago and told him and asked him if he knew. He never got back to me. I think he stole my info!! haha.

Reiss definitely owes you one. When you tweeted him did you mention you put it on Patsfans? He might have been tweeted by a few people about your original post. If he didn't know you were the OP he might not have realized the credit you deserved.

And glad to see you don't blame us all for the few and came back.

Lastly why o why couldn't you just be wrong.

Gotta give the OP credit, never backed down from the barrage of doubters. Kudos OP. That being said, that doesn't seem that serious. and there was a pic of him and others at the Kentucky Derby last Saturday, didn't seem to have a walking boot on, so obviously very minor. They said they had to adjust a screw, I always thought Edelman had a screw loose ;-)
That picture was from last year.

Apparently off topic:

When did having to re-insert a bone screw become just a 'cleanup' procedure?
Not trying to start another string of questioning our posters so I choose to believe you but is it fact the procedure was to replace a screw?

I've heard it reported as both 'insert' and 'replace'.

That's how it's been reported, yeah.

I'm hoping it is something like what Kevin Durant had. Just inserted a more comfortable screw. Quote below is NOT about JE11:
“The soreness that he’s experiencing is unrelated to the fracture,” Presti said. “The soreness that he’s experiencing is in relation to the screw itself, touching an area of the foot that more often than not doesn’t create soreness. In Kevin’s case it was creating some soreness. We looked for ways to manage the soreness proactively and we exhausted those measures. We then consulted Dr. Anderson and another outside physician, and the decision and recommendation that was conveyed to us was he’s in a stage now in his healing process that would allow us to transition to a different screw, which should relieve the soreness while still promote the healing of the initial fracture site. So the prognosis of the initial injury continues to be very positive.
Kevin Durant undergoes second surgery on right foot, will be reevaluated in one week

Very similar to how conservatives like to bring up the liberal media, Obama and the degradation of the country in topics that have asolutely nothing to do with politics. Both speak to the mindset of whiny, easily intimidated man children.
So I guess your post would be an example of a liberal bringing politics into a topic that politics have nothing to do with...

I based my comments on two things, the first was that I have never seen one of these first hand reports that was actually true and the second was that in this day and age of social media any instance where a pro athlete is in public sporting an injury or a bottle of champagne is usually all over the place. Mack Herron cited a report that Edelman was hurting and I asked where he got the information and he cited Christians post, which I denounced as a troll for the reasons above. As it turned out he was telling the truth and I was wrong, so I apologized to him both publicly and by PM.

Like anything else if you make a mistake you own it, apologize, learn from it, and move on. Next time I will give more weight to the posters history and I will let others deal with the trolls who come in here instead of jumping on them myself.

Good stuff, Ivan, although I wasn't meaning to single you out by any means. Most of us were skeptical to some degree.

I am not positive on the details but from what I heard this was a "cleanup" procedure so I would assume that it is the same foot.

Thank you for the response, however, I was referring to the last time Edelman broke a foot and needed surgery. I believe it was '12 or '13. He's certainly had some issues with the wheels.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I believe it's his playing style. He plays as hard, or harder, than anyone I've ever seen. He particularly cuts harder than anyone.

Oh please.

This whole schtick of calling homers blind and dumb (at a fan site none-the-less) gets really really old. You guys attack at least as much as you get attacked. And pretending that you can summarily dismiss people's opinions because you have some precognitive insight into their motivations only makes you look like the kind of close-minded idiot you are accusing the other side of being.

As with any forum.. some people went a little overboard here.... but as Ian rightfully pointed out, there was plenty of reason to doubt the OP if for no other reason than the odds.

Trolls happen daily.

Stories being broken by a newish poster a full week ahead of the press catching on.. happens very, very, very, very rarely.

That all said.. the OP absolutely deserves to see some crow being eaten.
I was unaware that being a fan inhibits the ability to use logic. Athletes get hurt. Sometimes they hurt their feet. Kevin Durant had a broken foot and needed multiple surgeries, as did Dez Bryant. Dobson and Lafell both had lingering issues after foot surgery so I am not sure how being somewhat anxious after hearing Edelman had another foot surgery is somehow "doom and gloom".

As one who owed you an apology and provided same, let me say you are much more gracious than some of the jackass phonies who felt compelled to seek justice on your behalf. I'm guessing you can handle yourself quite capably on your own. And, kudos for your original report.

Speaking as one of the people who apologized, I will admit that, for a moment, the cynic in me was wondering whether the media reports were based on your post. As far as I know, no one has a picture yet.

Just kidding...kind of sort of...:)

You already have more credibility than ESPN and most BOS beatwriters.

Somewhere Ted Sarandis is apologizing 1000 times.

That Reiss is a slippy toad...
