RB, WR, TE?

Maybe they're envisioning the answer to be Yes.

We know the stories of how much interest they had in Percy Harvin over the years. His size and abilities aren't too dissimilar. Potential Swiss Army knife?

Useful to know.

For Reynolds? definitely not TE, he's only about 190lbs.
That's what I thought, around 5'10, 190-200lbs max. Odd that Daboll worked him out separately. I guess BB must really value his opinion?

In think Daboll was the WR coach when the Patriots drafted Branch and Givens, so he may be evaluating Reynold for WR position.

A BC blogger mentioned that Stephen Daniels, ILB, has a meeting with the Pats this week.

I'm getting worried they'll draft him in rounds 2 or 3

Or trade back from a 2nd rounder, then use a 4th (which I assume they'd get) to eventually take him there

I think option 2 although maybe they'll trade back with #90 into the 4th, take Reynolds there, and pick up a 5th rounder or 2017 4th.

I can see something like:

#60: Sean Davis or Cyrus Jones
#61: OT of choice (maybe a trade back and take OT in high 3rd)
#90: Trade
#96: RB of choice
4th: Reynolds

Interesting that the Titans went to the Naval academy to work out Keenan Reynolds. The Belichick tree in action?

According to an Instagram page I've seen, the Patriots have worked out Marshall SS DJ Hunter. Here's why it may be interesting.

5-11, 205 (not the interesting bit)

4.37 forty
39" vert
10'10" broad
4.2 shuttle
6.88 3-cone

And here's the really interesting bit:

1.45 10- yard split. Apparently that's the 7th fastest split ever recorded.

And here's why he's less interesting:

  • 26 year old rookie
  • Has a domestic assault charge although I don't know how old that is
  • According to NFL.com he's not a coverage safety but more an in the box guy.

Scouting report:

STRENGTHS
Highly explosive athlete. Has instant "twitch-and-go" lateral quickness combined with a straight-line burst to race down running backs to the edge. Lives in the box and rarely stays blocked using spin moves and hand technique to free himself. Passionate player with a high-end motor. Disruptive quickness as blitzer and gap-shooter against the run. Pro day results were off the charts.
WEAKNESSES
Labeled as a strong safety but is really a linebacker. Much too small, at this point, to be a linebacker in NFL. Has very limited coverage experience relative to what will be asked of him in NFL as a safety. Has no interceptions and just three passes defensed during career. Lunges as tackler and needs to bring feet with him. Highly recruited out of high school but had scholarship offer pulled by Tennessee. Has a long list legal issues to work through.
BOTTOM LINE
Has the size, speed and production to be considered as an NFL strong safety, but his lack of coverage experience and his character concerns including a felonious assault charge and domestic violence issues could push him into the undrafted free agency market despite his athletic traits. While Hunter is a few years past his prior issues, he's also set to be a 26-year-old rookie in August which is another mark against him.

2016 NFL Draft Profile: D.J. Hunter

Still, despite the problems, he's a very athletic Marshall prospect. We've gone to that well a couple of times. Obviously he'll be undrafted but would we sign him as a potential special teamer? Hard to look past the issues.

Hooray! I'm contributing positively to the board! :) haha jk.

I wouldn't mind seeing Daniels with one of our 6ths. Good physical inside presence.

Absolutely. Awesome run stopper.

Updated.
