When all else fails, watch out for this:

NFL will tell officials not to shy away from ejecting players

NFL V.P. of Officiating Dean Blandino told Peter King of TheMMQB.com that the league will also remind officials that it’s in their power to eject players for flagrant rules violations, even if they don’t commit two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

“We will reaffirm that the rulebook does allow us some discretion when it comes to ejection,” Blandino said. “We’ll make sure they understand that they have that power and they shouldn’t shy away when it is necessary.”

Seems like a planned progression from allowing the NFL* offices to have direct communication with officials. I would like those dialogs to be recorded and made available to teams.

You know...integrity and transparency.

No question NFL HQ wants more control over in-game activity.

This is to deal with players doing something like Burfict did.
Or if a Patriot looks at one of the refs sideways at a crucial moment.

Just another step toward putting the outcome of games in the hands of Goodell puppet/frat boy Blandino.

They can, technically, eject coaches or assistants from the game as well.

No one is safe from the demands of absolute game control by that narcissistic psychopath Goodell and his thug monkey sycophant crew.

Goodhell reminds me of the 10-year old boy in that Twilight Zone episode, where he could make people disappear if he didn't like what they were doing, where everyone walked on eggshells in fear of doing something to displease him.

Offensive pass interference! That's it, you're outta here!
Gronk's touchdown spike bounces sideways and the ball touches an opposing player's shoelace. Ejection, fine and suspension.

Roger Goodell as Anthony Fremont

He kind of looks like him.

I'm not worried. The pat's players are plenty disciplined on the field.

The Ravens and Raiders on the other hand though.......

Yes, but that might not be enough. The disturbing aspect is Blandino saying the refs will have wide latitude for discretionary application.

I thought this thread was going to be about humidity.

If you think it's an anti-Patriots weapon, then why don't you STAWWP WATCHINGGG?!?!?

:eek:o_O:eek:o_Oo_Oo_O

All refs suck. That is an absolute truth, but this past season was probably the best officiating weve received in years. Very few holding calls and mysterious false starts. Our secondary wasnt hit with too many bogus flags either. I can think of 2 such as the garbage call against Chung in reg denver game and 1 against Sheard against DALLAS.

Overall not too bad and it isnt like there are too many Burficts and Suhs running around.

I hate Goodell, but not everything he does is out to get the Patriots.

This is just typical Goodell. Every time there is one isolated incident that turns into a controversy, he and the League come up with a rule to address it. Look at the Brady Rule or the horse collar tackle rule (that was implemented because on Cowboy player whose name escapes me loved to tackle by grabbing the inside of players' pads) or at least one or two rules every year.
