2016 Patriots' Pre-Draft Contacts.

Watched a little of him since this was posted. Can't find too much footage, but I'm impressed. Makes a lot of contested catches. And tell me he doesn't kinda remind you of Randy Moss at times....

Damn!!. Keyarris Garrett looks quite the part of that TRUE DEEP THREAT/X-RECEIVER!!.. I like how he appears to have top tier body control, can pinpoint the ball while fighting for position to get him the edge over the defender and looks solid/tightened up not loose and looks to let on any doubt, etc. I read he's projected by most scouts n mock drafts in the 3rd (very earliest n realistically 4th/5th) which would be great for us. ;)

Is it just me or does he look slow. Idk if he's slow or he's having to slow down to adjust to the pass.

Not just slow, but he shows no route running ability; every route in that highlight is a go route against weak CB's and one poorly runned come back route. Also he doesn't seem to gain consistent separation. Looks very much like a poor man's Alshon Jeffrey. Nothing about him reminds me of Randy Moss.

Watch his games, not just his highlights. I'd be pretty comfortable taking him in the mid rounds.

Nick Caserio working out WRs at Cincinnati:

Caserio is currently at the University of Cincinnati pro day, per NFL Draft Insider Tony Pauline, working extensively with the wide receivers. "At one point toward the end of the workout, Nick Caserio requested the receivers run specific routes," Pauline writes.

While Cincinnati had three receivers at the Combine in Chris Moore, Johnny Holton, and Mekale McKay, none are considered anything more than late-round prospects. Moore is a 6'1, 206 lbs, Holton is 6'1, 190 lbs, and McKay is 6'4, 207 lbs. Moore and Holton are deep threats, while McKay is a former basketball player.

Cincinnati is interesting because they operate within a high-speed Pro Style offense, which makes the players a great potential fit with the Patriots. Former undrafted free agent receiver Kenbrell Thompkins is a Cincinnati graduate who made a quick impact in the New England offense.

And Dante is at LSU

In other news, offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia is at Louisiana State to watch the LSU pro day.

Scarnecchia has his hand in the team's selection and development of most of the team's offensive line. He worked out left tackle Nate Solder in 2011, center Bryan Stork and swing tackle Cameron Fleming in 2014, and left guard Shaq Mason and Tre Jackson in 2015.

LSU has a pair of top tier offensive linemen prospects in Vadal Alexander and Jerald Hawkins. Alexander was a four year starter, which carries a lot of weight for Bill Belichick and company, with two at right tackle and two at left guard. He is viewed as a 2nd round prospect.

Hawkins is a more athletic type of tackle, with two years at right tackle (while Alexander was at left guard) and this past season at left tackle. He operates well in space and offers a ton of upside. He's a borderline 2nd or 3rd round pick, who could be a perfect prospect for development.!

Patriots were one of 16 teams at David Onyemata's pro day.

I wonder what the Pats would do with him. Seems too tall and long for an off the ball linebacker and doesn't have the size or strength to set the edge. Situational pass rusher only? A very tall linebacker? His combine numbers are very similar to Chandler Jones, he just happens to be 27lbs lighter. Is it realistic to bulk him up that much in a year and have take from Chandler in '17?

Didn't he get kicked off his team? Aside from the low weight and lack of long speed, his testing numbers were excellent. In particular, for a long guy, his short area quickness is impressive:

Combine Invite: Yes
Height: 6061
Weight: 239
40 Yrd Dash: 4.80
20 Yrd Dash: 2.78
10 Yrd Dash: 1.68 225 Lb. Bench Reps:
Vertical Jump: 34 1/2
Broad Jump: 10'08"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.00
3-Cone Drill: 7.01
No Bench-Shoulder

He did which makes me think it won't happen (maybe in the 7th). He's not a DE, has no ability to set the edge. I think he'd be a Linebacker convert if anything. I think I'd rather have Travis Feeney, Eric Striker or Dadi Nicholas if we're looking at a day three OLB type. Stephen Weatherley is another possibility.

You're just speaking my language, man. Weatherley is the most prototypical of of that group, but Striker is a heck of a player. His athletic profile works against him, though. Can't think of too many slow, undersized, non-explosive players who thrived in space. Still, his tape is so good.

I have Dadi in my mock drafts right now. He just seems like a Patriots player. Versatile, explosive, makes plays, as fast within 20 yards as anyone in this class, but lacks a bit of size and doesn't have a great 40. Think we pick him up late and he plays everything from safety to LB to DE, all while excelling at special teams.

If McCalister can ease their fears regarding his suspension from the team, then I have to imagine he would earn one of those 7th round picks. His play is just too intriguing. I found myself comparing him to Jason Taylor more than once, but the red flags are pretty hard to just ignore.

Eric Striker is so intriguing. His production (something like 40% of his plays were at or behind the los) is off the charts good. Hard to reconcile his size and lack of athleticism but I just can't ignore him. Just put Dadi in my latest mock. Need to watch Jordan Jenkins now. As a run stopper and edge setter he sounds quite Patriot-y. Something only exacerbated by BB and Patricia turning up to the Georgia pro day.

I feel like we are getting better at understanding the pats when almost all of these players have been brought up a potential pats by different posters. I think I have mocked half of them over the past couple months alone.

By and large I agree. And then they go draft a second round safety and a very unathletic lineman like Tre Jackson and it feels like it's back to square one.

Pats sent a DL coach to the Michigan pro day, apparently to look at Willie Henry according to Tony Pauline. Also met with linebacker Desmond Morgan.

Defensive lineman Willie Henry stood on his Combine numbers and did only position drills. The Cincinnati Bengals, New York Jets and New England Patriots sent defensive line coaches to the workout for Henry.

Mario Ojemudia, who tore his Achilles after the fifth game of the season, was recently cleared medically and will have a workout on April 12.

Linebacker Desmond Morgan measured 5117, 231 pounds, completed 21 reps on the bench press, posted a 32.5-inch vertical jump and a 9-4 broad jump. While his 40 timed at 4.81, his short shuttle clocked 4.19 and 3-cone a swift 6.85. He met with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and New England Patriots today.
