Archie strikes me as the kind of guy who is intimately involved in his son's lives.I get what you're saying here. From my viewpoint I am sort of seeing a situation where Peyton did the crime and then fabricated a ton of lies to many people, including Archie, in the process. Archie obviously looks bad too but in some excerpts here he doesn't even seem like he has a grasp on the real situation, he only knows what Peyton has told him, and has accepted it all as true - but none of it is. This sort of behavior leads me to believe it is much more option B than option A.
If he had a son that was earmarked as a future star Qb, he was going to protect him.
It would not surprise me one bit if Archie strong-armed the University to sweep this under the rug and ensure that Peyton was coached on how to handle this from a PR standpoint and ensure that he was lawyered up as well as he could.
Peyton was 19-21 years old.....just a baby and very much in need of dads help.
