Cam Newton walks out of Super Bowl post game press conference

cam was the worst player on the field tonight ( with peyton )...
The pocket tended to collapse quickly upon him so I can understand why he was rattled throughout the game. Seemed like he was constantly trying to escape pressure. But at the same time he took too long to get rid of the ball. Probably just good coverage but still he looked uncertain back there.

The kid had just lost the biggest game of his life on the biggest stage imaginable. I'm sure he was also disappointed in his own performance at certain moments, although he played okay.

I'd cut him some slack for now.

I've seen Brady put in pressers like that, and we worship him for his hatred of not winning it all every year which builds his desire to succeed and compete.

Non-story for me.

He needs to be a man. Did Brady walk out of his presser after SB42? Heck even Scott Norwood faced the media after his missed kick. Cam is not a 22 year old any more.

The Panthers have probably the worst group of WR's in the NFL. Against Denver's secondary, it was going to take a long time for anyone to get open. Carolina's OL actually held up well, given the circumstances.

I've never seen anything like that 4th quarter fumble.

It was perfectly clear Newton wanted to stay out of the way and let his team-mates handle it. Remember, the Panthers were down by 6 at the time.

Say what you will about Manning, he would have thrown his creaky old bones down on the ground to get that ball.

Cam is an immature d bag. This is the same dude who stole a laptop & threw it out of a window and rips down banners. Not surprised he can't handle a loss that's in part due to his ****ty qb play. Guess there wasn't any dabbing or sideline selfies last night :(. He's a good qb but needs to grow up.

loool wtf I never heard about the laptop --- this was when he was in school?

just googled that ---- omfg that little ******* stole some kid's laptop
what a *****

I don't blame him for keeping his mouth shut yesterday. Probably smart of him.

As for his future, it all depends on what he takes away from the experience. If he looks for others to blame, both on the field and in the media, then he'll be just another talented guy who kept getting in his own way.

If he lets the loss help him mature and lose some of the attitude, then he might get back to the big game.

The man lost a Super Bowl. The press conference is just there to rub salt in the wound.

Yea and the press ask ridiculous questions specifically to irritate these competitors so they can get a negative reaction and write about it

"Can you describe in words the disappointment you're feeling after losing on the biggest stage?"

Then he answers it, even tho I'd want to throw a rock at their head for asking such a dumb question... but then the guy repeated the question like 2 more times.. just wanting to get under his skin

I dunno, I think Cam acts like a punk sometimes but this wasn't all that bad.. I think it's ridiculous to put these guys in front of a microphone and blood thirsty reporters so soon after a crushing defeat anyways, so I'm not even a little surprised when someone acts like this

Yeah the faux-outrage about this is a bit much.

The guy got abused for 60 minutes, lost a Super Bowl and was literally ask the same question about "how he felt" about twelve times in that video. How the hell do you think he feels?

Sports "journalists" are the dumbest people alive.

I don't know how some of them can even sleep at night with how ridiculous and malicious they are towards athletes in pursuit of an article they can write

That's the job though, man. If you're going to take advantage of pressers to push your brand (which, in this case, is himself), you have to sit up there and eat a **** sandwich when you lose too.

He should get called out for that sulking he did during the game. That isn't how the leader of a team should act. I couldn't give less of a damn for his press conference. Bill has had similar press conferences after losses and I didn't care then. What exactly are these reporters looking for when they call these coaches and athletes up there after a playoff loss? Rivera handled that loss exceptionally well, however. That might have been the most gracious I've seen a coach after a loss.

yeah, it's funny how he suddenly doesn't want attention

The media is full of bloodsucking ass wipes. There are always a few who just want to stoke the fire to see what kind of press worthy reaction they can get. "What about the children?"

Today I heard that Chris Harris was chirping at him during the press conference as well.

Chris Harris asking "can you throw the football?" ... Can't blame Cam too much for this human reaction.

The press conference will be forgotten overtime for the most part but his performance during the game won't be.

Flopping on the sideline, pouting and the reaction to the fumble will be remembered for a long time.

I've changed my opinion of his reaction to the fumble after watching it few times. I think he was trying to pick it up to extend the play but just got flustered as the play unraveled. I don't think it was out fear.

This was tough but as a black guy myself a lot of hate for cam newton is because he is black.

Really? Where was the negative reaction to RG3 and Russell Wilson?
