Pacman Jones voices anger in Video:

It also says that "without the referee's permission". For all we know, Porter could have asked the sideline official if he could go onto the field.

If he got permission fine then it doesn't matter or if this doesn't cover officials timeouts then I am wrong.

But it does specify a 15 yard penalty. Right at the bottom it states the penalties.

Joey Porter is listed as the Steelers Outside Linebackers Coach.

The Steelers OFFENSE was on the field at the time.

Can you explain why he needed to be out there?

There isn't a need for him to be out there. I am not saying that what he did was wasn't wrong. I am saying that I don't think it violated any rules. I don't think there is a rule that says only offensive coaches can go out to attend to injured offensive players.

Matt Patricia went on the field (although right next to the sidelines) to say something to Dion Lewis when he was coming off the field with his ACL tear.

Yeah, I edited the penalty part. I didn't see that until after.

Matt Patricia was nowhere near the 50 yard logo in the middle of the field.

Matt Patricia was nowhere near the opposing players.

I can't help you if you want to compare what we all saw tonight with our own eyes to Matt Patricia on the sideline hugging Dion Lewis when he got hurt:

Porter was CLEARLY in the MIDDLE of the field right in front of the Bengals 50 yard line logo..

At a time when the Steelers OFFENSE was on the field.

Porter is the Steelers Outside Linebackers Coach.

Porter's Linebacker squad was on the bench at the time.

Porter was nowhere near his men for whom he is a coach.

Do we need to draw a diagram?

All true. Still doesn't make him being there illegal.

Tomlin handed game ball to Porter.

According to Jim Daopolus, Porter checking on Brown made his going on the field leagal.

What about talking **** to 10 Bengals while he was 10 feet away from Brown. Was that legal?

He's a coach. He was obviously there to provoke the bengals.

It worked. LOL. what's your point?

I really regret Pacman not making this a tad shorter. Couldn't he have made it 6 seconds so it could be a vine?

Maybe if the NFL did something more back in September when Jones smacked Amari Cooper's head against his (Cooper's) helmet, Jones would have been on better behavior for the rest of the year.
Maybe ejecting some players earlier in the game might have also calmed things down. Maybe eject a few fans too while you're at it.

So because the clowns on ESPN said it's ok for Porter to be out on the field then it must be true??

Seriously....read the rulebook.

Porter baited them and the dumb ass Bengals fell for it. Good they deserve it, bunch of undisciplined thugs.

Marvin Lewis should be fired Monday morning too for taking the players side.

What a disgraceful organization.

The only good to come out of this is we know and especially the refs now know it's not legal for anyone besides medical staff and head coaches to be out on the field because they will look for the Patriots to violate that rule to prove that point.

On the field is on the field. The rule doesn't say that a coach cannot go more than a yard onto the field.

Say what you want about Pacman (and you'll likely be right), but the NFL and the refs are a joke. It's becoming something that I can't even watch anymore. Were it not for my love of Brady, BB and that organization, I would not watch the NFL.

I'm actually OK with Pacman expressing his frustration and viewpoints after the game. There's certainly nothing surprising in what he said, or how he said it; he is who he is and that's been well known for years. The NFL is overly controlling of its employees; it is like a robot world.

Do you read what you post? That NFL press release is about where people are to stand "while play is in progress". Play was not in progress when the Jones thing happened.

The one about Harbaugh West was about him coming on to the field right after a play (i.e. "play is in progress"). There was no timeout (let alone an official or injury timeout) in effect.

When Harbaugh East came onto the field during the Divisional that was also "while play is in progress" (I just checked the play-by-play for the game on NFL.com and neither team had called a timeout when that happened). Again, there was no timeout (let alone an official or injury timeout) in effect.

So you and DangerZone managed to dig up a bunch of totally inapplicable stuff. Congratulations.

As for Porter, I think he's another whiny sh*tstain Steeler who should be dropped off a skyscraper. What I do "have a thing for" is not seeing NE fans beclowning themselves by whining like spoiled children, especially when whining about things that aren't even true.

Also, both former ref Jim D. and FootballZebras said it was OK for Porter to be on the field. I see some people already starting to whine about Jim D. appearing on ESPN. I wonder where that whining was when he was supporting NE during DFG. Can't have it both ways, people.
