The Pats beat the Titans fairly easily as expected and the score was probably closer than the game was.

Now we are on to the Jets in a game that is important to both teams. For the Pats it locks up the #1 seed and for the Jets it is virtually an elimination game cause if they don't win out they have likely no shot to make the playoffs unless one of the Steelers or KC drops both of their remaining 2 games.

The Pats of course would like to wrap up the #1 seed early which would allow them to use week 17 however they please leading into the bye.

A few things about this game are interesting.

The last game played against the Jets was one of Butler's worst and Ryan and Chung's best of the season. It will be interesting to see how much they use the same strategy of Butler on Decker and Ryan with help on Marshall. Ryan is coming off one of his worst games last week so it will be interesting to see how this duo does facing a very good pair of WRs and see if they have grown since the last contest (Particularly Butler).

Last time the Pats OL played the Jets DL they handled them pretty well. This would be a good time to see the OL put together a good wire to wire effort vs a good DL unit.

The Jets on the other hand don't tend to give up many sacks so I would like to see the Pats get home and get pressure on a good OL unit.

People tend to forget this game was razor close much of the way through and it was not till the 4th the Pats got a little breathing room that was mostly taken away at the end. The Pats can and should do better vs this team this time.

Jets as playing well, they have a good defense and the offense is starting to click. Decker and Marshall are a strong tandem. Should be a very good game.

Patriots 106 - Jets 3

For the first time in a few years, this is a matchup that fans of other NFL teams will be interested in watching. Thus stated, the key to beating the Jets at this point in the season is neutralizing Marshall and Decker. If the Pats defense can do this, it should be an easy victory for you guys.

The Jets are playing their best football not only this season, but in a number of years.

For instance:

The Jets have been penalized only 84 times through 14 games, four fewer than the Patriots.
The Jets are 4th in the NFL in fewest penalty yards on the season.

Under Todd Bowles, this is a disciplined team does not beat itself.

The Jets are +9 in takeaway, one better than the Patriots who are +8.

Ryan Fitzpatrick continued to expand his personal career record for wins in a season (9) this week and has won four in a row and 5 of 7. He has a nice rapport with two outstanding wide receivers, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.

The Jets are a dangerous team that is not distracted from the task at hand.

This is gonna be a tough game for the Pats to win. We are under-manned right now, and the Jets are playing to avoid being eliminated from the playoffs. They will throw everything they have against us. On the flip-side, if the Pats are able to win, I'll feel a lot better about us competing the playoffs.

This will be a pivotal test to see how the team can deal with adversity.

If DA can't go and JE isn't ready the offense may really struggle.

Sit them both, they will end playing the AFCCG at home as the 2 seed.

Not feeling it for this game. Jests 23 Pats 17. Jests need the game. Pats don't since they can win in Miami next week. Too many injuries. More this past Sunday. Jests dodged one to Decker somehow of course. Ivory was hurt the first game too. He is back now.

David Harris is hurt for the jests. He is the glue of their defense.

If we can come up with a game plan and Defeat these boys it will be Three Weeks until our next meaningful game. We don't want Brady or Gronk playing in week 17.

I still think this Jets team is suspect, as they showed in many games. That said, the Patriots have many guys injured that I think needs extra rest and not only 1 game here and there. Including Gronk and Scott Chandler, but they will certainly play.

I think the Patriots needs to play smart and take what the game give to us, if we lose we lose, I'll take it, this will be a playoff atmosphere game and if the Pats go full speed I can see us losing at least one player to another ****ing injury. Getting out of this game in one piece should be the priority.

NFL Week 16 Early Advanced Lines: Patriots open as 3-point favorites at Jets

John Morgan

On Thursday, prior to the start of any Week 15 games, the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook published early 'look ahead' odds for the following week's NFL action. The line originator installed the New England Patriots as three-point road favorites over the New York Jets in what will be the 114th meeting of these two bitter rivals from the AFL. Since the finish of Sunday’s NFL games 14 other venues have followed suit and list the Pats as three-point favorites, while four are placing New England at minus 3½ points.

The Patriots lead the all-time series 59-53-1 and have won eight of the last nine contests, including a tough 30-23 Week 7 victory. The game kicks off at 1:00 pm eastern time and will be televised on CBS....

Let's hope so.

What an opportunity for the NEP to potentially knock the NYJ out of playoff contention and solidify their own position.

And doing it in NY, sweetens the deal. :D
