Patriots Promoting Rookie Joey Iosefa To Boost Running Back Depth

6'0", 245 pound FB but :

Iosefa, 24, has dropped weight since signing with the Patriots and could be used as a fullback, running back or pass-catcher.

Would love to know how much weight he's lost and whether he's still a true FB.

Not impressed by the college highlights I've seen, but if he can pick up blitzes and not fumble, he'll be OK if called upon.

I think they need to make a cut too. Any information?

I guess speed can be ruled out. He is as fast as Brady.

I'm guessing purely a backup who won't see a meaningful rep unless there's an injury to one of the other 2.

His ability to pick up blitzes and block out of a two back set for White and Bolden is probably Belichick's greatest focus. Sounds more like a substitute for Develin than anything else.

Which doesn't make sense as he was 247 at combine and pro day. Unless he bulked up after. His 3 Cone was decent despite terrible 40.

He can throw a pretty tight spiral too....

I'm hoping we keep him through the playoffs as the Devin replacement and promote Ball or sign Jackson. Could have decent running game then.

Color me impressed - he looks decisive

How's is the Titans DL? Haven't seen them play this year aside from some highlights of Mariotta.

He reminds me of that one great year Hillis had with the Browns. Not that fast but a nightmare to tackle. Anyway it's against college competition and who knows in the NFL. But if he can fall forward and average 4 yard a carry, then speed doesn't really matter in our offense.

I'll call the shot.....

He'll be waived on Monday or Tuesday, resigned to the PS and Ball & SJax are on the roster next week.
