We might have to root for the jests against the cowgirls. If they lose then the squealers don't have that urgency to beat the donkeys. They can drop that game and just win their last two games.

Pittsburgh is the second best team in the afc regardless of record. Be careful what you wish for.

i think that's the overall consensus on these forums. i also think the consensus is that no one is coming in to foxboro and beating us.

Good football team with a lousy coach. I am not a believer in the defense. Protect your QB and u can throw it on them.

And besides .... we'll just shift our defensive line on cadence! Big Ben will wither away! ;)

I would rather have two Cincinnatis and two Denvers in the playoffs than Cincy, Denver, Pittsburgh and Kansas City or NYJ.

Jets: You never want division rivals in the playoffs. Division games are always crazy. That said, I think they will narrowly miss the playoffs.

Chiefs: KC has a lot of individual talent that can single handedly take over games. Hali, Houston, Poe, Peters, Smith. Peters is looking like a shutdown CB in his rookie year. Crazy. This team is on a 7 game win streak that includes wins over Pittsburgh and Denver. Offense is their biggest problem but they live off of the defense getting them turnovers and good field position. If Jamaal Charles was healthy the Chiefs would be in the conversation for best team in the NFL right now.

Steelers: Ben is a gamer. The defense is young, fast and getting better every week. They have three game breakers at WR and one of the most solid TEs in the game.

These potential wild card teams will upset both the home teams and if recent Super Bowl history is any indicator, if you can win one on the road you can win two on the road. But don't confuse me with a chicken little. When healthy I like our chances against anyone.

I've always considered myself enough of a whore to root for anybody when the situation calls for it. But, I'll admit it was really tough rooting for Pissburgh yesterday. I texted my sister about 10 minutes in saying, "This is like rooting for ISIS." And it was.

Can they do it for us 2 weeks in a row?!

Why the heck would I want to be a squealer fan? We're winning out. F*ck those squealers. Their head coach is the most useless coach in the NFL. I'm rooting for an asteroid.

?
They will have urgency because they can still win the AFC North.

either the jets or steelers will get in the playoffs.
And who would we rather have? Steelers are far more scary, but the only thing worse than losing a game in the SB, is losing a playoff game to the Jets.

I don't even want there to be a chance of opportunity for it.

I believe if my math is correct, a Pats win coupled with Broncos and Bengals losses Sunday. Gives the Pats at least the #2 seed.

It would leave
Pats 12-2
Cincy and Denver 10-4 and one of them is guaranteed a loss for a 5th loss. And Pats could only end up with 4.

Not only that, but the Cowboys are an NFC team. If both the Jets and Steelers lose, I think that vaults the Jets into the driver's seat based on conference record. All losses aren't created equal.

I would say we would be the favorite regardless of who we play, and we can beat whoever that is... But i wouldn't say no team has a chance. Not even close to being on that train.. But Id pick NE vs whoever in the AFC.

Yes it does. If both Jets and Steelers lose this weekend but both win last 2. Jets would over take Pittsburgh based on Conference record. Jets would be 8-4 and Pittsburgh 7-5.

Didn't know that. Ok

I agree. But it would be satisfying to have them come in as a hot team into Foxboro and just silence them. It would be poetic justice by mirroring the beginning of our dynasty where we beat them in 2 AFCCG. All that BS-gate talk sandwiched in the middle would just be nothing more than words.

It would be incredible, but imagine if it goes the other way. They were pretty hellbent about earning a rematch back in week one, and then we took some hits, injury wise.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'd rather avoid the hot team, and possibly even the most talented team remaining in the AFC.

No need to be ashamed for being smart.
I think the Steelers receivers are flat-out scary. They can fly...they can catch...they don't shy away from contact. Big Ben is also willing to take repeated shots downfield. He isn't afraid to throw into traffic...nor is he afraid to throw a pick.
Especially with the McCourty injury, we need to heal up before we try and take on that crew.

You have to go through the best. The steelers are far from perfect. You can put points on them. It's s a matter of slowing down their offense. We definitely need a healthy and effective edelman and a healthy defense.

I loathe the Steelers, but having them in the playoffs is good for fans. They have an electric offense with those receivers. Jets and Chiefs are incredibly boring teams. We'll already have one stinker from the AFC South.

Definitely not rooting for Pittsburgh on Sunday.

I just won't be rooting either way, other than for both teams to beat the snot out of each other.

Regardless of who wins, I'll look at it as a positive. If Denver wins, Pittsburgh is on the verge of missing the playoffs. If Pittsburgh wins, we've got #1 on lockdown pretty much
