The new ombudsman for ESPN: a Jets fan with an anti-Patriots tweet

He looks like a slimey ****bird.

Perfect fit for ESPN.

This (fan doesn't equal too biased), at least, can be argued in his favor. Unfortunately for him, the whole "just got here and am already ****ting on the Patriots" thing already demonstrates that his judgment is suspect at best, and non-existent at worst. And having good judgment is part of being an ombudsman.

He should be fired immediately. Instead, he'll probably get a raise.
Right...and if handled properly, disclosing a rooting interest would be the right path to take (although plenty of people aren't sports fans, so ESPN would have been better suited to hire one of them.)

But that tweet is beyond outrageous, and should have been disqualifying in and of itself for the position.

I'm guessing Bart Hubbuch turned them down for some reason...

That guy right there.. yea him... yea, **** that guy.

Unrequited love is a very dangerous thing.

He shaved off the beard and has been looking for revenge ever since Brady told him his stomach smelled:

don't let the sound of bugs hitting your car take away from the greatest road trip the NFL will ever see.
Don't quite agree with your post but I do agree with the last line...

He looks like a cross between Ben Stiller, the "cute" kid from Jerry Maguire, and a learning disabled monkey.

Hello fellow posters,

I am a Patriots fan, and I believe that you (as Patriots fans) should not let these things bother you.

Have a good day!

Glad the jetsfan Joined that sinking ship. #THELAYOFFSJUSTSTARTED
Layoffs! Layoffs?
You're talking about layoffs?
Hey. I'm just trying to get a job here.

Can I be honest here? Nothing against you in particular OP but ************ am I sick and f*cking tired of hearing what everyone else thinks about our franchise. I really just don't give a **** about what ***** tits writer for the New York Daily News thinks about the Patriots, I don't give a **** what Steelers fan from ****town PA thinks about the Patriots, I don't give a **** that the Broncos fans think they're the holy grail of integrity when they violated the salary cap on their way to a Super Bowl.

I don't give a **** about the cute banner some Jets fan wants to have flown over practice.

I don't give a **** about what some washed up Cardinals linebacker and awful head coach have to say about headsets. I don't care about coins. I don't give a f*ck about the NFL searching for bugs in locker rooms. I don't care about what the world thinks about framegate when the results of this season show it is more irrelevant than what you wear on gameday to help the Patriots get a win.

I JUST. DON'T CARE. Stop worrying what everyone else thinks about the Patriots and I promise you'll sleep better. People will hate them. They'll call them cheaters. They'll call the greatest ever QB to play the game "Shady Brady." They'll call Belichick "Belicheat." They'll use a stupid-ass and nonsensical name like the "Cheatriots" (really? that doesn't even f*cking flow!!) when referring to the Patriots.

And you know what? It'll happen for a minimum of 10 years AFTER BB and Brady retire. So just sit tight, hunker down, put the headphones on, and block out all the f*cking noise and don't let the sound of bugs hitting your car take away from the greatest road trip the NFL will ever see.
Pretty eloquent response to a very difficult situation, and when you first read it, it even sounds like a reasonable response. But when it comes right down to it, all you have basicly done is give up.

I guess when someone shovels **** on on your lawn, your response is to ignore them, just because you know they are going to keep on doing it even if you complain? C'mon Man

I know all this "noise" is frustrating and aggravating, ADG. There is nothing I'd like better than to pretend to wasn't happening. I would much rather be talking x's and o's with someone, than fight these attacks on our team's integrity. It would be so much easier to cover our heads and pretend it isn't happening.

The reason we have to keep on fighting, regardless of whether it's effective or not, is this. If your integrity is being attacked and you do defend yourself. First, it will never stop, and second, you deserve the results. By not defending yourself, you are, in the eyes of others, admitting to the accusations, and thus making it worse instead of better. Bob Kraft tried that tactic already, and look where it got him

I know no one is going after our integrity directly, but as loyal fans of the the team we are being attacked thru our team. I admit, I have a thing about bullies. I can't abide them. Now I KNOW that in both cameraplacementgate and framegate my team wasn't cheating to create an unfair advantage. I know that Roger Goodell, his cabal, and his proxies are basically trying to bully us into admitting to something we all know isn't true. He thinks if he can lie manipulate and mislead enough people to want to believe his narrative, we will simply get tired and give up in frustration.

I beg you not to do that ADG. The easy way isn't necessarily the right way. Hang in there.

.....and as to this new Jet fan ombudsman. Perfect. He's just another piece of evidence in the defamation suit. BRING IT ON.

Just another rodent leaping from one burning building to another.................

Seems like ESPN has kinda missed the point of an ombudsman, they're not supposed to be yet another arm of your propaganda machine. Not too much of a surprise though, they probably just finally accepted that anyone with real credibility and qualifications either wouldn't do the job to their satisfaction or would quit out of frustration like the last one did.

At least ESPN's finally owning its bias, and publicly accepting that it's more "TMZ: Sports Edition" than an actual, journalistic outlet.

...... and while it's been fun to harpoon this guy on what amounts to his first day on the job for being stupid enough to be a Jets fan, let us take a breath and see what he actually does. The litmus test is gong to be IF or how he reacts to ESPN's actions over the 8 months AFTER the data in the Mort Report was found to be completely inaccurate.

BTW- If I were running Brady's defamation suit, I'd have this guy on the stand, to explain his actions or inactions after he investigated this travesty of the truth.
