It's easy, and only takes a few moments. This is what happens when you play a quality team, that doesn't allow a screen pass to be turned into a 50 yard td. Or a 10 yard pass turn into a 60 yard td, with guys missing tackles like it's a midget league game. Or a running back gain 170 yards, that usually trips over a blade of grass.
We played two bad teams and won which is great, but no Oklahoma drill, rah rah coach is going to make up for a bad team against team like the Patriots.
That's the class of the league, playing against the half *** of the league.
I don't understand the angst here about an undefeated season. Now, I don't much see the point of talking about it much, because there isn't much to say--it'll happen or it won't, and odds are it won't.
But do I want it to happen? Um....yeah. Hell yeah.
I want it too - it wouldn't be THAT big of a deal other than right now all it's doing is keeping up with other AFC undefeateds. It would be great but keeping up with the #1 seed requires being undefeated right now.I don't understand the angst here about an undefeated season. Not any more they don't - many are open to 2.00am these days. Unfortunately, my local isn't one of them.
- Heckuva block by LaFell on the Gronk TD. Starting with the fact he a) thought about blocking, b) knew where to look for someone to block and c) made the block well.
Thing is, Patriots rarely loose second half of season. (Packers last year was an anomaly. But beating the Packers in Green Bay is always going to be very difficult).I'm playing you this week. You can bench Sanders too if you want.
For one reason or another, something that stands out to me is the the team speed of the Patriots. To me, the team appears to be much faster this season than in recent seasons. Has anyone else noticed this?
What really strikes me about the offense of this team is its relentlessness--it gets its 30-plus points even in games where the unit's not really clicking (the way we know it can) at all.
With other teams, there will be drives that are essentially wasted--through sloppy play, missed connections, turnovers, whatever. As we saw last week, the Pats aren't perfect, they'll have their dropped passes, etc., too. But there's so little of that compared to other teams. They get the ball, and here they come. They won't beat themselves. And over the course of the game, the points come. And we'll look at the end of a half, or a game, and think, "well, the Pats' offense played OK. Not bad...left some points out there, should have been better, but it'll do." And they'll have scored 40 points.
Scary stuff. Oh, and the defense is pretty good too. And the kicker. Oh, and the coach...
i'm waiting until week 14 to think about this. Too much can happen in the meantime. Even then, we'll have two division opponents loaded for bear in their own houses. Let's just enjoy this win and a mini-bye!Once we beat the Giants then I will get on the undefeated train. 9-0 and one of our harder games behind us. I will not get into it till then.
