Latest Fans Crying "They Cheated!" After Another Pats Beatdown

The Packers have been utilizing a play where they put two receivers to one side, and then Rodgers tosses the ball to a 3d player behind them. If the timing is off, the two receivers get to the defenders and begin blocking before the 3rd player catches the ball. That's a blatant example of a double OPI, yet it's often not called.

The Seahawks scored a TD against the Patriots in the SB when Baldwin used the ref as a pick against Revis.

Even true picks are fully legal within a yard of the line of scrimmage.

Setting picks is no more 'cheating' than holding, offsides, illegal contact or the rest of the NFL gameplay penalties.

Stack receiver sets should make these people apoplectic.

The Cowboys ran some pick plays in that game too. Every single team in the league does.

Not to mention there were some big phantom calls that extended both of their cute little scoring drives.

Especially on third downs.

Somebody over there got it right:

First winning and losing this game had zero to do with pick plays and all to do with the fact that the Cowboys could not score a touchdown.

Second corny pick plays are legal (within the pick rules of course) and every team in the NFL, College and High School use them.

Two rules govern the pick or rub routes:

Rule 8, Section 5, Article 2 (Forward Pass, Backward Pass, Fumble)

Prohibited Acts by both teams while the ball is in the air. Acts that are pass interference include, but are not limited to:

(e) cutting off the path of an opponent by making contact with him, without playing the ball.

From the same rule, Article 4 "Other Prohibited Acts by the Offense. Blocking more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage by an offensive player prior to a pass being thrown is offensive pass interference.

Making contact beyond one yard or blocking the receiver is illegal hence why Edelman was flagged. Within one yard of the LOS contact can be made and that is where NE as most other teams run the pick routes. So corny or whatever they are legal.

So I went back through the game to see if the Cowboys cheat as well? Guess what I found...shocking I know but one of your four 3rd down conversions came off....wait for it....a corny pick play.

3rd and 3 4:58 left in the first quarter.

Then again on another 3rd and 3 with 4:31 left in the 1st. (twice on the same drive)

The Cowboys first scoring drive was aided by two pick plays that led to two 1st downs.

I guess you can't upload pictures to the forum you can only use a URL. Otherwise I would post the screen shots.

In total I counted 10 pick plays run by the Cowboys today. Could be more but I don't have the all 22 so I could only count the pick plays viewable on the broadcast version. So the final tally is 10 out of 39 pass plays run by Dallas were pick plays: 25.6% of Dallas' pass plays were picks.

The things fans whine and complain about is mind numbing when it comes to the Pats. And it usually only shows their ignorance to either the rules or their own teams actions.

I think it's funny other fan bases are now referring to any in-game infractions the Patriots incur as "cheating".

Pick plays? Cheating.

ILLEGAL Block in the Back? Cheating.

Offensive Holding? Cheating.

Delay of Game? Cheating.

So according to my admittedly flimsy Google research, the last time a team never cheated during a game was the 2011 San Diego Chargers against the Broncos when they had zero enforced penalties against them (and even then had a defensive offsides declined).

The lengths people will go to to refuse admitting that the Patriots are simply a better team than theirs borders insanity.

well...if there's one thing we learned today in Dallas it's...you can pick your friends...and you can pick your nose...but you can't pick your friend's nose...unless of course you're Greg Hardy, in which case, you use an ICE PICK and then call the police and claim it was a nose piercing "accident"...

It's like with the Seahawks and holding the last few years. Refs simply WONT call it every down... So, why not use it if the refs aren't going to call it everytime? Broncos/Packers are known for this too. Patriots will do whatever has to be done to win. It's sickening, but it is what it is. Until that issue is addressed and resolved, it's gonna keep happening, and I don't blame the Patriots for running it. I blame the league for allowing it. Absolutely hate the Patriots. I wouldn't flame the Pats for that though... They are just a team who will go to whatever lengths neccessary to win, obviously. The question is kind of a moral one. Do you run stuff like that all the time, and find success off of it, or do you stick to the more conventional way of offense without taking advantage of those illegal money plays?

It's kind of like Madden for me, lol. There are money plays, glitches etc that nearly always work. If you used them in excess you'd nearly always win. Some want to just win regardless of how it is done, and some, like us unfortunately, want to line up and beat the man in front of you and if you can't do that then you take a loss. Very crappy part to the league but it is what it is. I just wonder if we were like that, would the refs actually CALL IT ON US everytime? I bet they would!

Patriots put on uniforms? Cheating. :)

Likewise, bro. I had predicted a 38-17 final.
I went with the averages: 39-23. My bad. Garrett's a fool if he doesn't give Cassel a shot. Weedon might be the safe choice but he won't get you in the end zone. Ever. I'm looking at their sched. Bye this week. Your 2-3 and your offense was inept.

Now is the time to inject some life into it. NYG leads the Div. at 3-2 after a late game comeback at MetLife against an awful SF squad. Rest of teams stand at 2-3. This Div. is still wide-open.

Don't give up hope blueberrycoffeedonutlatte guy or whatever the hell your name is. :)

Yeah, a Dolphins fan in the unit was like "there's so much good about the Patriots, BB is a genius, Brady is awesome, but I see a score like 30-6 and I wonder"

4379089-7084239708-kevin.gif
Here's the finish, "...and I wonder why the vast majority of humanity considers me a moron."

LOL, I walked into work this morning to a Dallas fan saying Edelman is a dirty player because of the picks and I asked him if this was the first NFL game that he has ever watched. He looked at me goofy and I said, "Seriously, is this the first NFL game you have ever seen?"

Bribing the refs to not call penalties on you... cheating.

The Cowboys get a trophy for their efforts on the field..
