ESPN Labels Seahawks "Defending Champs"

I doubt Insider ever had three million subscribers in the first place. I've never met a single person who subscribes to it.
I got insider for subscribing to ESPN the magazine. It was something like $10 for 2 years. Will not be renewing even if were cheaper.

They've lost 3 million subscribers over the past year. They have to be concerned.

That is "significant" :D
I can understand declining ratings, but how is it possible for them to lose subscribers? ESPN is generally a bundled part of your cable package that you can't avoid.

This kind of nonsense isn't deliberate, any more than a loose bolt in an automobile is deliberate. It's just inattention to quality and to quality control.

Well, they are the defending NFC and NFC West champs. So ESPN was technically right although they were misleading with their lead.

I just don't care anymore what they do.

Disagree completely, no way that gets by a Jr. High School Editor. Just like the league trolling their Twitter account this is ESPN being the douchebags they truly are.

People are turning in their cable boxes and ESPN loses a subscriber every time they do so. Ha ha ha, looking forward to their demise, lying, scumbag, @ssholes.

I've worked with editors at numerous leading trade publications, and I disagree with you.

Often, they actually introduce errors.

There's a really easy answer, don't turn to ESPN. Their ratings are plummeting and the more who turn it off the worse it will get for them. Stop clicking on their bait and treating them as relevant.
Don't know how many times I posted something similar . . . even rubbed some people on the board wrong. I just don't get how some of you (not you, Ivan) keep watching the **** and then getting mad about it? I mean, do you like to feel mad? Do you like that feeling? I don't. I have not watched ESPN since 2013 and especially not during this past off season. I promise to all of you that I am a happier, more well adjusted person than before. F*ck ESPNFL.

I hear ya. It's not like they pay their editors mucho dinero or anything. I hope someone eventually finds that loose bolt swimming around that rogue keyboard that "accidently" pushed the enter key to put that story out on the front page.

Poor ESPN. They would never do anything to intentionally disparage the defending World Champion New England Patriots, right?

And it's only going to get worse. Their days on top are coming to an end and I will laugh my ass off as their viewers dwindle and they cut a holes like Chris Carter, Mark Brunell, etc etc.... From their shows. I only watch when I have no other choice, Patriot games and soccer are really the only things I watch, I turned off their football shows a long time ago and thankfully they don't carry hockey and have been blackballing it ever since they lost their bid for it. In short ESPN can go f.ck itself.
Ditto for me ... I watch sporting events they carry here and there and not a minute more than that. The worse show they have is Smith and Bayless ... 2 f'n useless blowhards ... a joke of a program.

I do not watch any national sports shows ... especially ESPN it's garbage.

I watch a few on NESN and Comcast because it's a bit better than reading the Herald or the Globe. I get all my Patriot's news here in the forum which is way easier to following the tweets of these schills ... I just read them here and give Ian the clicks - he deserves them.

I agree completely. I really only come here to get my Pats news as well. I follow a bunch of Pats guys, including Reiss, on twitter. I actually have my twitter handle in my name for guys on here to follow me and I can follow back, but I have not gotten any Patsfans following me (to my knowledge). It's no bother now because I'm rarely on twitter anymore. My timeline is being overrun by garbage. LOL

You all are my Pats family and I enjoy being on the board very much. I love talking Pats with you all.

You seem to think editing is easy.

I get paid a great deal to edit in small doses, as one of my services to clients. I also edit my wife's novels and novellas, including some best sellers of various kinds (NYT list, USA Today list, top of the Amazon charts, etc.).

It's not easy; I do a far from perfect job; and I probably spend a lot more time per word/page than a salaried editor at a press organization does.

Yes Fencer I believe editing something as simple as that is easy, I believe it's called reading. If they aren't up to that they should be fired. All the editor has to do was change it to " the Rams beat the NFC Super Bowl participants."

BTW, if anyone is in Indy next Monday you should try to get a ticket to the Indy/jets game, the Colts will be raising a banner before the game for their participation in their week or loss to Buffalo.

Now if only NBC would take basketball back from them....

I've lost interest in basketball years ago, but the NBA on NBC theme song is the best.

I've always said NBC and CBS are the best for sports

Editors have done significantly worse to me without being fired. And I probably have published fewer than 100 press articles in my life.

For anyone convinced this was intentional: last night I was flipping through channels and Sal Pal was doing a report on ESPN about the upcoming Dallas-Philly game. The headline on the screen:

Murray to face former team for first time since trade

Feel free to give ESPN the benefit of the doubt, they have lost that from me.
