".Patriots Rage: a condition characterized by deep resentment of the New England Patriots. It afflicts millions, including, one would suspect, many of Roger Goodell's bosses — who are sick and tired of the scheming Patriots kicking their behinds......Patriots Rage, I believe, is what allowed Roger Goodell to mangle the Deflategate investigation and still walk off to a standing ovation in many precincts, as if the only mandate here was, “Bury those cheating scoundrels by any means necessary.”

The Commish apparently thought he could murder the truth in his 20-page denial of Tom Brady's appeal and get away with it.

He almost did, too.

But a judge named Berman sent Goodell rumblin', bumblin' and stumblin' into yet another massive public humiliation. One that should, by all rights, cost him his job (but likely won't).

It's not hard to have a worse misdeed than nothing.

Yeah, but at the end of the article it's noted that he's a Pittsburgh talk radio host. Think about the
Boston ones, and now recognize that he's a Steelers guy dealing with their fans. I'm amazed he was able to come as far to the good side as he did.

It goes to show...people on this board follow the case more closely than most other reporters. Look how much the guy gets wrong. No wonder they're still not buying that no deflation occurred.

Not bad. Still I hate reading or promoting those who say they believe guilty as hell. No evidence to prove that and by saying so, you are as despicable as the NFL. That being said, it sure must make Timmy Benz just so happy to read that.

The way he wrote it, it does seem that the judge knew what he was doing. He knew it would move the chains, but against the NFL. He's not a moron.

Not sure this is worthy of a thread ... he still believes Brady is guilty as hell...for all the wrong reasons.

Sounds like he wishes a more competent person would have nailed Brady and the Patriots with ease.

Here's the thing - if I was a fan of a rival team who thought the Patriots had cheated I'd be pissed at Goodell too. I mean, FINALLY, it's a chance to nail those cheating Patserisks* to the wall and Goodell ****s it to hell and back.

Even people blinded by hatred of the Pats should be calling for his head. Does the guy have any fans beyond 1st round draft picks who are pretending?

Meh same narrative, Goodell is an incompetent scumbag and Brady is still a cheater...

Even if, like me, you believe the Patriots are guilty as sin, Goodell has become the bigger story.

At least he ends it well with the Patriots Rage comment

The incompetence and duplicity is breathtaking. Only a force as strong as Patriots Rage could make somebody stay blind to it.

so, I just tweeted him some snarky comment + tacked on the box of that 600 yd game in 2013 with a "600yds??" just to be a ****

couple min later I realized they put up a record 600 yds.......wonder what fraction of a psi the ball was missing

He's a PITTSBURGH guy. Of course he's going to be biased against the Patriots.

THAT is why this is a big deal. When someone like this or Florio or Cromartie, etc take the Patriots side in this matter, Goodell is in trouble.

It's not a big deal when Reiss or Curran do it.

No one asks the big questions.

1) What is Andrew Luck & the Colts record VS Brady & Pats?
2) If its well known that Pats like less air in balls why did
the Colts have to be notified?I know three teams in our division that
would love to squeal on us but.....Crickets
3)Why would Brady even think of cheating on a Colts team that he has
destroyed now,past and future?
4)How many times has the Ball Boy gone to the bathroom with the game
balls in other games?(If its just that one time, maybe he had to take a leak)

I love reading these articles that are now popping up all over, it's like wordporn. Dont even smoke and I feel like I want a cigarette.

This article is a "little" bit better than most of the "Goodell and the NFL are lying pieces of duplicitous sh!t, but the Patriots and Brady must be guilty of something because you know, they ARE the Patriots and there MUST be some reason we can't seem to beat them. It CAN'T be because they are better coached, better prepared, and more focused, so they must be cheating. No! We all know they still must be doing something......but maybe not so much THIS time." article.

At least I give the writer credit for making the basic case better than most of these idiots do, and I thought he was clever in using the "Patriot Rage ploy, s0 moronic Steeler fans didn't run him out of town for showing any support for our team. At least now the haters are willing to go as far as saying the "NFL league offices are worse than the Pats (now THAT is a perfect example of damning with faint praise)

I'm STILL waiting for the out of town beat writer to FINALLY say the truth. First the Pats did NOTHING wrong, and second, elements in the NFL office knew it and maliciously set out to slander Brady and the Pats anyway. And when Goodell found out about it, he sanctioned the hit.

THAT's what I want to see on the next thread. Not just another reminder that we now are the lesser of 2 evils.

not going to happen, PFK.

OUR only recourse is solidarity....and absolute, eternal enmity with every single human being now employed at NFLoffices.

When I read articles like this I feel like Matthew Broderick in "WarGames" right after he instructed Joshua to play tic-tac-toe with itself. He knew they weren't out of the woods right away but he smiled because he also knew Joshua was learning and it was just a matter of time until it figured out that the game (and by extension Global Thermonuclear War) was pointless. Now that the truth is finally being put out there after months of obfuscation and outright chicanery by Goodell and the league, many people who hate the Patriots and/or are typically in the tank for the NFL are starting to "learn" for themselves what the real deal is. They may not absorb or understand everything right away and as such might tend to cling to some of their old beliefs but hang in there - more and more people are indeed starting to come around to seeing things as they really are, not as Goodell et al and other miscreants within the league would have them see it. They may or may not continue to hate the Patriots, but it doesn't really matter. To paraphrase Donald Sutherland in "JFK" - "People are suckers for the truth, and the truth is on our side."

if the NFL was more competent, they would of looked at what they had, MAYBE fined the club 25K for an equipment violation (at worse) and this would of been long over.

Agreed, and my concern is that even if Goodell is fired or resigns, that still leaves the ex-rodent cabal in the NFL* offices in place and free to bide their time until they think they have their next Pats "gotcha" to hound the Pats with.

if the NFL was more competent, they would of looked at what they had, MAYBE fined BOTH the Pats and the Colts 25K each for an equipment violation (at worse) and this would of been long over.

Fixed your post.
