Brady appeal decision coming next week?

I think it's legit to point out the enormous amount of discretion that judges have. In this matter, I have no idea how a judge would decide and indeed think that it could come down to "which judge" gets the case. That is why Brady's decision to take this to Federal Court would be so much more difficult than many out here are suggesting, if a reduction in the suspension is tied to an agreement not to litigate. The entire mess sucks, but, as someone famously said, "Life is unfair."

Any attempt to do that would almost automatically drive Brady et al. to court, on the grounds that they are violating the terms of the CBA. When has a reduction of punishment ever been tied to a player forfeiting the right to go to court?

It would automatically raise the question of what the NFL is trying to hide or prevent.

i think the news will arrive later today...

The uncertainty over when this is going to come out is so absurd and hasn't received enough attention.

Goodell made it clear he wanted to hear the appeal and make the decision. But he acts like when it will be announced is somehow mysterious to him. "Yeah..it might be next week." Well, it's up to you, moron. It's insane.

Seriously. Juries deliberate on murder trials for shorter periods than this, and they have to get 12 people to agree on the decision. Goodell, in theory, only needs to make the decision himself.

Why can't a competent journalist ask Mr Goodell what the hell could be holding his decision up for so long? Is it because he's not sure if he wants to reduce the suspension to 2 games from 4 or is he considering wiping slate clean but keeping the non cooperation charge? Or is he considering increasing the punishment.
Really just ask the guy..Roger, why the hell are you taking so long with this decision?

About the only salient point Lester Munson has ever made regarding this sordid mess is that Goodell cannot do that.

Inflate it to 16 PSI and shove it up Goodell's ass.

Better idea. Inflate the ball in frigid conditions to 13.5 PSI, shove it up Goodell's ass, allow his body temp to heat up the air and increase the PSI in the ball and expand it. Ball rips his colon. He learns a lesson in physics.

More damage, more irony.

Goodell is going to float some rumors on his decision and then wait to hear what Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith say about it on First Take and then make his final decision.

Also likely.

This is deja vu of the endless weeks of waiting for the Wells report to drop. "Its gonna be this Friday for sure!" I said again and again.

At least with that I, and most others, was expecting a happy conclusion.

According to Twitter, Breer said Brady "might" accept a reduced suspension. Breer can't possibly have people near Brady, can he?

Don't do it Brady. Don't do it.

He said that on the radio this morning too. It sounded to me just like speculation on his part due to what he perceived to be Brady's preference to focus on football. He didn't sound like he had any inside info.

Near, as in say, the United States? Then, yeah, Albutt is close to Brady.

Just wishful thinking on the part of an NFL stooge. Although I wouldn't be surprised the pudgy putz is starting to pressure him.

I wouldn't believe a word Breer says, he also said Goodell would wait until Brady was in TC for the ruling so he got to smell the grass and got his competitive juices flowing and be more likely to accept the punishment.
