Tom Curran gives some much overdue respect for Nick Caserio

Love them all. Love Pioli, love BB, love McD, love Patricia, love Caserio.

I'd almost think the new order should be Jonathan Kraft, Caserio, Patricia. I'm hoping BB lasts long enough that McD and Patricia get their own shots elsewhere though. BB is the focal point and I believe anyone who thinks Brady "makes" BB is completely missing the boat.

Caserio is great. That he is signed through 2020 gives me comfort.

No idea, but remember, Josh was a 33-34 year old during his time in Denver. I'll never forget his obnoxious fist pumps when he beat BB. Clearly he's changed since then.

Come on. He just beat his former team, at home, in a come from behind win, to go 4 or 5-0. Excitement is allowed.

And I am sure he has learned a lot since his first head coach stint, and was probably humbled by the firing and subsequent firing after his abysmal year in StL. IF he becomes our next coach, I think we'll see a different Josh McDaniels.

Good post! Definitely like the optimism.

My eyeballs tell me that post Pioli our drafts have gotten much better, Caserio is often seen on the field involved with this team.. which does not mean all that much except he is a "football guy"...

Caserio fits the mold, played some college football at John Carroll(an MBA thrown in as well), started as a personnel assistant, did some coaching on the field and has worked his way up the food chain.. does that remind anyone of someone else on this staff???

Gumby-you can change your settings in User CP to not show sig pics in posts.
Thx, knew that though.

That would be baby with bath water.

Chiuba already minimized sizes-ameliorated my minor annoyance. Plus, then I would miss everybody else's new stuff just cause one person' s oversized photos got 'old' to me. I am more lurker than poster anyway so my motto is 'never ignore -take it all in .'

Sorry about that @Gumby . I couldn't help it with the GIFs...lol hopefully my sig doesn't cause any more headaches for you guys

Speaking of Josh.... I like him a lot, but he has many detractors outside of NE. I heard he did a long of things wrong in Denver to piss people off. Do you know if he has a great relationship with the Patriots front office?

Josh was too young and inexperienced to take the job in Denver but he getting some seasoning now. By the time BB retires, I think he will be much, much better. Remember that BB had a rough time with his first coaching job (in Cleveland).

I hope you're right Freddy. He's an ultra-talented OC, and I agree, I think he deserves a second shot as head coach.

BTW, thanks for giving me a chance to use the word "ultra"!!!

For anyone who is a working stiff that was ever a 1st time manager of people or of a business unit you WILL screw up. The question is always how you make sure your screw-ups aren't nuclear, you learn from them and not repeat them.

We don't know what Josh will do in his second stint as HC. Weis had a number of HC jobs and was an arrogant jerk and was ultimately unsuccessful at every stop. RAC didn't win but also had less than optimal talent to work with.

Are you saying RAC was an arrogant jerk too or was that a typo?

I came across a link from a website specifically devoted to having Josh MCd fired as HC of Denver Broncos (JoshMcDanielssucks.com LOL!). Of course, it's an agenda-driven site with no true objective merit, but it offers a detailed timeline of all the things Josh did wrong to get himself fired.

But if there's one thing this franchise has taught me, is that so-called "failures" in the NFL can flourish if given the right environment to prove themselves. Think of all those veterans who were told they were washed up, and think of even Belichick himself after getting fired by Cleveland and coming to New England. Call it the Patriot way, but there's something special about this franchise - and I think Josh recognizes that. Maybe it will humble him....maybe he'll even consider New England home. But the more I hear from his detractors, the more eager I am to see how he proves them wrong!

Argh...I didn't proof read before hitting post. Let me clarify...

By all accounts both are solid human beings.

I've never heard a bad word about RAC. Should have not been in the sentence. My bad.

Weis burned a lot of bridges as HC of ND and Kansas and according to admins and alumni was very difficult to deal with.

Roger. That's what I figured you meant.

Belichick the coach can make-up for any mistakes of Belichick the GM. As great as he is at evaluating players, he is also great at evaluating talent for the coaching staff. In a way he is alot like Brady. He can take the avg and make them look great. Belichick puts players and coaches in position to succeed. Pioli, thrived with the Patriots because of Belichick. Without Belichick to help guide him, Pioli struggled after he left the Patriots. Caserio has the benefit of having Belichick. We hear of the good decisions but we never hear of the ones that got the thumbs down because Belichick thought it was a bad idea.
