If he goes past go he gets $200.
This keeps happening. Big 2nd year slumps for CBs the Patriots draft.
McCourty... D Butler... Ryan...
Unless he is going to jail, in which case he does NOT get to pass go and he does NOT get to collect $200 dollars.
He musta pased go like 80,000 times before he went to jail.Unless he is going to jail, in which case he does NOT get to pass go and he does NOT get to collect $200 dollars.
WHERE are you getting these numbers? OMG check Miguel's page like gosh!He musta past go like 80,000 times before he went to jail.
I was just guessing that he actually received 16 million. I don't know what the # was.WHERE are you getting these numbers? OMG check Miguel's page like gosh!
You didn't factor in that he owns the west train stationI was just guessing that he actually received 16 million. I don't know what the # was.
I think they can get a 5th for a team desperate for a CB. Hell if Sopoaga can net a 5th Dennard sure can...wait, are we not desperate for CBs? Keep the beast.
In agreement, Ken. A number of posters have felt that with the loss of Revis and Browner, we are back to the secondary of 2011 and 2012. While no can deny that the Pats are definitely weaker in this area, I do not feel that the defensive backfield is as bereft of talent as it was several years ago. A good free agent pick-up, trade, or draft choice would solidify a decent, but not great, defensive backfield. Here is the fatal flaw in a lot of people's arguments that the Pats defense is doomed because we lost Revis. They continually make knee jerk assumptions based on whatever the last game was. Last year was Kyle Arrington's best and most productive year as a CB, and yet because he lost 3 jump balls with a 6'6 WR, the masses have dismissed the other 18 games where he was an asset overall.
More importantly they continually forget that diligent players with good coaching continue to get better. Ryan, Butler, and Dennard are all if nothing, diligent hard working players. Why wouldn't I think that they are likely to be better this year than last. Especially given that all of them probably play more man coverages than they ever had to that point.
Again, losing Revis' HOF talent, and Browner's unique skill set was a significant loss for the defense. No one is saying differently. But to think the entire D is going to fall apart, is rather shortsighted and narrow thinking

I admitted that the defensive backfield would be weaker than last year, but I think that Dennard, Ryan, and Butler are better and have more potential than Bodden, Barrett, Dowling, and Molden, guys we plugged in at the corners in 2011. Both Arrington and McCourty have found their appropriate backfield positions and are considerably improved over 2011. Chung is also improved - not great, but improved.Who are the starters right now? McCourty,Chung,Arrington in the slot and two question marks on the outside?
I see the McCourty signing as kinda worthless because we can't play man to man.
Here we go with the 10 yard cushion on 3rd down.

Which is how I ended my original comment.... although I think we all expect it to be addressed. If Belichick could pull off some type of moderate trade and add a mid-high round draft pick, things could potentially look a lot differently.

I'm not particularly worried. As a few other posters have stated, one of the fascinating and entertaining aspects of the offseason is the way in which Belichick and the Pats management deal with the challenges of roster turnover - and always manage to produce a team with double digit wins. I might be pretty bored this time of year if the 2015 roster were exactly the same as the 2014 roster.I think that could be said at any position on the team though, so we'll have to see what Belichick feels about it going forward. For all we know, it's nothing more than a fantastical wish here on patsfans.
If that is the case, the secondary will have their work cut out for them in 2015. Possibly more importantly, any lack of man coverage potential is sure to have a trickle down effect on other parts of the defense.
