Seattle is basically going to fill the CB2 and NCB positions with young guys on cheap contracts through the LOB's Prime.

No need to overpay guys like Bryon Maxwell who are easily replaceable. They'll probably be the number one defense again next season again
Exactly what we should do Revis, McCourty, Browner everyone else is expendable IMO.

so basically the Pats are ALL IN for 2015 and 2016 Brady's last prime years and we tank 2017 & 2018

All good. A 40 year old Brady can get to the AFC game with my mother at receiver. Her route running leaves alot to be desired for those who are wondering, and no, she cannot rush the passer.

So, given the Pats reportedly receiver shopping, I expect DA to be a June 1 cut (spread the 3.6 dead hit).

Also, is it possible that Solder gets the heave ho tomorrow? 7.5 against the cap this year on the option - no dead money if they release him. That money ucold go a long way toward retaining McCourty and/or Revis.

They just signed Cannon to an extension, remember.

The problem is that the LOB's prime has 4-5 more years and Revis and Browner have 1-2 max.

In addition, you could argue that Thomas > DMC and Chancellor a 2x player than Chung.

I dont see it happening. Belichick isnt going into the season with a completely new left side of the line. It's no given Connolly will be back.

Looks like T Smith to the 49ers is a done deal.

Flacco is going to have train another Pi cronie for the deep ball. Won't take much. "Hey new guy, run straight down the line 40 yards. I'm gonna throw the ball short on purpose and you come back for it and run over the receiver. Works every time."

Then I hope they're working on a deal with him.

How about Vollmer to LT, Cannon to RT and Fleming/rookie backing them up?

On Maxwell, everything about him screams Adalius Thomas to me. A product of the system and key cogs around him. Nothing special.

Mark Sanchez resigned by Eagles... 2 years, 16 million.

That's it. The question must be asked I can't take it anymore- ARE THEY DUMB?

I see Sanchez at 2 years, 9.5 million with 5.5 guaranteed. I don't necessarily think they are dumb. I think they're going to get Mariota and are going to have to use Foles to get it. Sanchez will be the back-up or maybe even the starter is Mariota isn't ready in time. No reason he shouldn't be since he'll know the playbook.

Solder was lights out during the Patriots playoff run. Given the need to invest in a staunch OL, I can't see the Patriots moving on from a young, talented LT. He's too important to cut.

Well, if the Eagles trade up to one the Jets can draft Winston assuming Tennessee passes on him

Are you sold on Mariota /winston?

Tampa is taking Winston, that pick won't be for sale. And while I would normally say the price is too steep for the Eagles to get up to two they have a proven young quality starter in Foles to trade to Tennessee and that evens the playing field because no one in their right mind would take Geno. Besides, the Patriots will be picking with the jets pick.

Hy, that gives me an idea. The Patriots could get a boatload from the Eagles so they can pick Marriota. That would be awesome, two first, two seconds, two third and another first next year.

Wow, Woody is really going to wish he kept his pie hole shut.

AT was a athletic freak a big guy about 25 pounds on Collins.
Who came from a small school under rated and became a player for the Ravens the problem was once he got the big pay day he cashed out and checked out from the grind and what it took to get him there.
Ray Ray said that once AT was paid he wouldn't work hard anymore and he was right.
Problem is BB and staff didn't know that side of him and we paid for it.
That's why keeping your own talent is so paramount to succeeding. When you replace player a making 8 million with player B making 6.5 you may think that's a win because similar production and money spent elsewhere.
The problem is when player B won't put in the extra film study, weight room, rehab, diet.
That's when capnomics blow up In your face.
Unless we have a Inside voice on a free agent I want no part of them.
Daboll knows Hartline, Bush, Daly knows Harvin.
I wouldn't look at paying serious money to any players that we don't know.
I don't want a repeat of AD and Fanene again.

I like Solder I just wish he had a nasty streak, but I don't think he is going to command a mega deal. I would like to see him stick but they are going to have to make some tough choices in a year or two. Especially after they sign Sheldon Richardson.

I agree, it would be nice to have a line of maulers but I'm not sure it's the way to build your line. I'd prefer Solder to be technically perfect and machine-like. I can't imagine anything worse for an opposing DE/OLB than being stonewalled at the line by a LT/RT.

If there's one unit where I don't mind an over investment then it would most definitely be the OL. I don't mind the contract given to Cannon mainly because excellent depth at swing tackle never hurts it's more the player that bugged me. He's been far too erratic to earn the contract he did. That said, in BB I trust so so be it.

@mortreport: The Eagles' wild ride will continue: Jeremy Maclin plans to reunite with Andy Reid in Kansas City once free agent market opens Tuesday.

I agree on quality OL technically, but I think you can have both the nasty attitude and be technically sound.

Agree on Cannon, I like him but that deal made very little sense given his play to date.

I'm more inclined to see OL maulers as excellent run blockers rather than excellent pass blockers. I appreciate both share their nuances but to me, it seems critically important in pass blocking to be technically sound. Run blocking, at times, strikes me more as a battle of wills in that I will beat you in this contest.
