Seriously, what a pile of pablum coming from someone who is nothing more than a carnival barker. Reiss was 100% right last year in telling them to get this kind of **** off his blog.

Sad when the Bristol suits troll into what is otherwise a great Patriots blog:

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4776445/cowherd-this-is-bradys-last-chance-at-a-supbowler-

BTW, so no one has to click on it here is a large enough snippet so you can save the button:

"“I think by next year, Andrew Luck is going to own the AFC for a decade,” Cowherd says. “This is the worst team Andrew Luck is ever going to be on. [The Colts are] building, they're building, they're building. Now they got pretty good corners. They have some pretty good tight ends and receivers. With one more draft and free agency, they solve their offensive line ... they're going to own this thing.

"[Peyton] Manning’s gonna go, Brady's gonna go, and [the Colts are] gonna own it.

"It's going to be Andrew Luck's AFC. In fact, if Andrew Luck beats Tom Brady this weekend, the torch has been passed"

Just a bunch a statements with no backup evidence for his belief.

They said the same thing in 2011. lol

The thing is I think if the Colts drew a different team in the first round, they would have been one and done. They faced the AJ Green and Jermaine Gresham-less Bengals and the Broncos with Manning being a shell of himself. People are really over inflating them quite a bit. Four weeks ago, people thought they were one and done because their offense was stalling and their defense was what it always have been.

Not sexy enough. Try again. Needs more torch references.

Yes, I read this. So the Ravens are going to go away? It's not so easy to win football games. Having a QB does not make it so. Just ask IND and DEN.

I really don't understand why people are not making this more of a story.

Colts are a pretty good team but I would contend that they have faced two teams with serious health issues on the offensive side of the ball.

Why would Reiss quit over this? People have been talking like this since 07.

Well, I guess it's obviously pretty urgent and the Pats have to take care of business Sunday.........hard

Is there a milestone in there somewhere about the day that Luck loses to the Pats by less than 3 TD's?

BTW,

cory redding - 34
mike adams - 33
laron landry - 31
d'qwell jackson - 31

their defense is actually older than the pats

Did Reiss really almost quit?

What is it with the Andrew Luck ball washing?

The guy makes rookie errors and tries to be a gun slinger instead of actually reading the defense, he is far from elite at this point.

In the article linked above, Cowherd said :

So the Colts are building and building by trading 1st rounders for Trent Richardson ??

I think Luck is taking a team, coaching staff, and team execs much above the level they would be with any other QB beside Brady and Rodgers.

They can't miss too many times with 1st rounders and expect to compete every year. They are lucky the Texans didn't have any QBs this year. I'm not sure the Colts will finish 1st in their own division next year.

Did Reiss really almost quit?
He was quite upset when ESPN went to their NFL Nation format. All of a sudden his blog was overrun with anything that even mentioned the Patriots. There was insider content showing up all over the place. He lost control of something that was his without being told ahead of time. I recall him being asked in a chat, and he had to look into what was happening.

I personally really like Colin Cowherd a lot, but this is obviously stupid. Sometimes I think that the Luck love is mandated by the higher ups and the personalities are required to rant about how amazing he is for a certain amount of time.

Same deal with Manning, but obviously they can't do that with Manning right now, so they go to backup lover Luck. They invested so much time anointing him the "next John Elway" before he was even drafted that they have to keep the mythos standing up themselves by continuing to say it even when it doesn't make sense. Perception = reality for ESPN.

So win or lose Sunday the Pats are no longer contenders? Really?

They will be contenders, but I can't see a 38 year old win a super bowl. I hope I'm wrong. I can see a scenario where Brady wins 4th this year and 5th next year, but if they lose to the colts or Seahawks this year it will be devastating mentally. Teams that lose Super Bowls just don't go back to the big game the following year.
