The Patriots vs Packers POST Game Thread

I don't get why the Pats did not run the ball. And is Gray that far in the dog house?

This game showed how important Jones is to this defense. One of the most important players on the unit.

The Patriots played so poorly that I suppose I should be encouraged that they didn't lose 45-10. They were outcoached on both sides of the ball and made more mistakes in the first 30 minutes than they had in the last month.

Either Green Bay isn't all they're cracked up to be or NE is so good that their D+ effort is better than an A game by most other teams.

Our D did its job but the O crapped their pants.

Excluding final possession for GB and kneel down for Pats: 8 possessions each.

2.625 points per possession for Pats (would've been 3 per if Ghost hits)
3.25 points per possession for Packers (would've been 3.6 if they don't miss a FG)

Pats average 2.7 PPP and Green Bay averages 2.87. Green Bay gives up 1.92 points per possession, and we give up 1.74.

Sorry, but the offenses of both sides performed about as expected. It was the number of times they had the ball that dictated the outcome.

The D and D pass rush didn't do it's job on 3rd down when we needed them

They got a couple of early stops called back by downright bogus or very ticky tack calls giving the Packers free first downs which lead to points. That changes the tone of the game and puts the secondary on the back foot because they don't know what they're going to get called for or not.

It's not a divisional or conference loss, so I can deal with it.

What worries me more is the extent of Edelman's injury. He came back in, but seemed to re-tweak it.

Hopefully none of our injuries tonight were anything serious, and they can rehab before the Sandy Eggo game.

Eh, it was not up to par with the previous seven games, but not the debacle it was back in "training camp" first four weeks IMP.

Pass blocking on deep passes is hit or miss. Outside block is improving. Interior pass blocking has regressed since Denver.

*Interior blocking against DET was solid but it is susceptible at times.

Got revved up for this one. Good game...what was it, 10 degrees out there at the end?

Gronk HAS to make that catch and Gost HAS TO make that kick.

You get ZERO options when you allow them to just take over 1st and 10 at their 38.

Too many missed shots by our offense and Rodgers tore the defense apart in the 1st half. Obvious they wanted to contain Rodgers in the pocket but NOBODY wants to give Aaron Rodgers 6, 7 ,8 seconds in the pocket to survey the field as his receivers make double moves all over the damn field.

I am proud of the Pats. The refs could/should have called some in our favor. Our defense was sloppy in the beginning and took too long to adjust. Our offense needed more. Good game GB won. I don't think that GB will make it to the Superbowl.

This we have to watch..we need Edelman

The defense held the pack to 3 points in the second half. But the pats only scored 7 in the second half. Need to go back to what worked on the road before, which was running the ball. Get Gray out of the dog house, and stop being so stubborn and going to unnecessary length to punish his mistake.

really, you thought the o-line was not quit on par with previous games. the pats didn't get a first down till the end of the first quater

11I don't think we played our best football and still we had a chance to win against a really good team and a great quarterback. I hope to see them again in the Super Bowl. As for now, let's route for KC tonight and then focus on San Diego next week!!

Rogers is too good to give that much time! Live and learn, if we meet again hopefully we play like we did in the second half and not the first!

26 point for GB is not bad D. 21 points for a Brady led offense is dung. And our vaunted special teams looked more like short bus special than unique special. I expected more from O and ST.

Rodgers is an elite QB and one of the best in the league. And we only lost by 5 to them at their Home on the road. No shame in the loss.

Now it's on to SD.
Not one of the best, but the best.
