The whole 'Belichick is arrogant', 'Belichick does X because of his huge ego' is so ridiculous. It's one of those things that has been repeated so often that it's accepted as fact.

I agree 100%. If he was such an egomaniac he wouldn't be bringing in coaching friends all of the time to trade ideas with. He used to brainstorm with Chip Kelly long before Chip was even a major college coach, and the same with Nick Sabin, Urban Meyer, and Greg Schiano, just to name a few.

A raving egomanic wouldn't do that. He also wouldn't be falling over himself to compliment opponents both before and after they play (unless they do something stupid like the Lions center did). He also wouldn't be constantly giving so much credit to legendary coaches like Paul Brown for changing the game.

Pats haters insist that Belichick is a know-it-all egomaniac, and they insist that Brady is too. Bunch of crap.

To be as successful as they both are, they do have to believe in themselves and be confident, but both seem hard-working, humble, thoughtful, and respectful to the core.

Of course, the risk of punishing Gray for missing practice is having a guy who didn't practice - didn't even join the team until this week - perform well in a game without having any practice, thus demonstrating that the practice Gray missed wasn't critically important.

It's sort of like Interstellar...

Its about TEAM. You play the guy who quit on a different team last week rather the guy who blew off practice.
