Lying Hypocrite Parcells Still Complaining Re: OTHERS' Betrayal

Parcells knew and played the game, and played it well, so he shouldn't have been too surprised or hurt when others turned the tables on him from time to time.

He was surprised because of his gigantic ego

On SIRIUS radio Parcells voice sounded like he was 95 years old

HILARIOUS!!!!!

Evdiently YOU forgot that Parcells could not "buy the groceries"!!!!!! That's just sad.......

If ANYTHING, that reflects badly on Parcells that many of those same players could win SBs once he left.

But I'll answer that ersatz question: The very same number of NE players that had any Super Bowl wins under Parcells.

How many of Fairbanks' players had the opportunity to play for Belichick?

Always a pleasure.

So you think that Parcells had ZERO input in drafting players....now that's HILARIOUS!!!! How did the drafts go after the Tuna left? Exactly.

Parcells took those players to a SB. BB doesn't win one without them. Like I said though, done with this conversation. You won't change my view, I won't change yours. Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

So calling Tuner a liar, eh?

Tuna on one hand said he loved and respected working for Jerry Jones, but it does not jive with a number of things:
  • He could not just clean house in Dallas like he did in the past - some of Jerry's favorite assistants were kept initially.
  • Quincy Carter (aka the 2nd coming of Michael Vick) was one of Jerry's biggest pet projects (along with Jason Garrett (aka the 2nd coming of Sean Peyton.)) Anyone notice this pattern Jerry sees a star then thinks he sees their clone out of nowhere and he "discovered" them? Back to Parcells, I doubt if he had total control in Dallas he would put up with Quincy Carter an entire year. To his credit, he got the Cowboys into the playoffs upgrading a bust into a Trent Dilfer QB.
  • Parcells would have never signed off on bringing in Terrell Owens on past teams - Jones did not allow him to veto the move. It was sad to see Terrible Owens get the better of Tuna simply because he had Jones favor in his final year as coach.
  • Parcells confided to Bob Knight he was not happy in Dallas towards the end - Knight did not elaborate but again, I don't think he was running the entire show.
Parcells got the hopes up for Cowboys fans enough Arlington gave Jerry $250M for his new stadium, then Jerry was done with him.

It should be noted Parcells did help the Cowboys as they were contenders a few years after he left instead of 5-11 - just enough to tease and torture fans.

Classic.

Evidently someone here didn't hear of the term "Buying the groceries" :D

Everyone else knows that the major difference between Parcells (who didn't) and Belichick (who did) is that Kraft learned his lesson by 2000 and gave his HC far more personnel control.

THIS is what is credited by almost everyone who has known about the New England Patriots as the number one difference in Kraft's philosophy between when he bought the club and when he brought in Belichick.

Odd that you don't know that and are arguing that the earth is flat. It's pretty funny.

Whatever you say pal. You seem to think that Parcells had ZERO input, or authority, in who the team drafted. The drafts immediately after he left say otherwise. It's not black and white in that a coach either gets total control, or has zero input in personnel decisions, but whatever. You apparently think it's that way, and that's your prerogative. The problem between them came down to one player, Terry Glenn. If we're going to go by what we read in the papers. Who cares though. In the end, you won't change my mind, I won't change yours. That's the beauty in having an opinion.

I know you need to get in the last word all the time, so reply away, as I won't.

From my perspective in Dallas, after Parcells came the Cowboys depth definitely improved and stayed that way 2-3 years after he left. Not as improved as many would have liked, but 5-11 to 11-5 is still significant improvement.

...and after he was gone, Jerry traded away lots of 1st round draft picks for more 2nd and 3rd rounds to try to impress others he had great football sense - LOL.

Once again, Parcells was a Chinese food lunch.

If the series of events that brought Bill Belichick and Tom Brady to New England didn't happen... the very last memory of the Patriots in a Super Bowl would very likely be the Bill Parcells betrayal.

Sure leaves a sour taste doesn't it...
