LaFell had four catches on 8 targets against the Raiders, and was targeted the second-most times behind Edelman. LaFell appeared to be where Brady expected him to be, and he got separation on a few routes. Brady was pressured on at least two of the incompletions. It looked like progress.
I wish I had a better understanding of why Dobson wasn't on the active roster, but maybe there's something with his feet and his ability to separate from defenders. A Dobson-LaFell pairing at outside receiver would be a nice way to open up space for Edelman, Amendola, Vereen, Wright and Gronk (who should have held on for that second TD.)
It feels like there's a lot for Brady to work with if only the OL would provide consistent protection.
