Just saw this in a comment on r/patriots, and it's a really interesting piece that gives some insight into how he's been able to become a contributor so quickly, and probably why the Pats picked him in the first place. It's a bit old, but I hadn't seen it until now, so apologies in advance if you all have.

I bet BB absolutely loved interviewing this guy at the combine.

Thanks for sharing, buddy. Good stuff.

Can he catch?

I like the way they are using him and he's starting to look like he could he could develop into a full time starting tackle.

This year he needs to start at Right guard already. By playoff time he will be an experienced athletic mauling right guard the online desperately needs. Online can go from weakness to a strength. A prototype 6'5 330 lb mauling right guard capable of driving his entire side of the DLine off the ball. By playoff time cannon, stork,Fleming has a real chance to be the most dominant interior offensive line Brady has ever had. Kelechi osemele many are predicting to be the most dominant guard in the NFL by seasons end. Fleming has similar size power and talent and of course smarter and craftier.

It was notable that they gave playing time to Stork at the end of the Vikings game. We only lock these guys in for 4 years, and with injuries they need to contribute right away in order to maximize their value as draft picks. We have a tough schedule ahead of us (post-Oakland), and in 2 of the past 3 years, the O-line has tapped much of its depth, so it is critical for him and Stork to get some XP before a want becomes a need.

I believe Matt Patricia -who went to RPI has a background in aeronautical engineering. Those two kids should get together.:)

"Cameron can tell you more than just the best way to cut off a backside defender on an outside zone play. He can TRASH talk about jets and orbital mechanics, calculate the movement of satellites in space, and tell you how to design a jumbo jet."

Edited for accuracy.

Excellent article. Thanks for posting.

These two quotes below really get me excited about this kid

“I know what’s going on,” Cameron explained. “I’m able to recognize things. My eyes do a lot of work for me.”

“Out of all the offensive linemen I interviewed, Cameron was by far the most detailed in his answers,” said the NFL source, who asked that neither he nor his team be identified. “He spoke more like a coach than a player.”

That's gonna be intimidating to any defensive lineman. He could send them home crying for not knowing how to find the eccentric anomaly in calculating trajectories. That, or lulling them to sleep.

Hopefully solder's replacement
