Adrian Peterson will be happy with David Yankey blocking for him

I find it interesting, while the rest of the league is getting smaller and faster to get after the QB, the Pats are getting bigger and nastier to run it down people's throats.

When the league is getting smaller and faster to combat the spread etc, going contrarian no bad thing.Blow em off the line of scrummage, more play action etc

Well, that is the thing with the NFL. It is a copycat league so schemes swing from one extreme to another. About a decade ago, everyone started to switch to the 3-4 because of the success of the Pats and Steelers. And then offenses went to spread and now the 3-4 is becoming more and more obsolete (even the Pats have abandoned it). It happened when everyone adopted the Tampa 2/Cover 2 defense.

I think the Pats are trying to be ahead of the curve on how to beat the current small, attack style of defense.

We were crying for help on the lines. Belichick gave us 3: Easley, Fleming and Stork.

For weeks, many of us understood that we needed a backup RB and backup QB.

I think that this is a fine draft. Obviously, these 5 will make the 53, and be welcome additions.

And now the crapshoot: late round choices, UDFA's and late signed free agents.

Without researching, I'm nominating Prince Shembo as the name of the draft.
lol where's the defense on all those runs! Way to contain the edge! :p

It's a multi year highlight film and it's the big ten. Got to give the RB some credit.

He shared carries every year, so maybe that was against pass leaning defenses. Still, looks good to me for a change of pace back.

Good 3rd day after baffling 1st two days. I'd rate it a C+ so far. Good pick in Stork, needed a center, and he won the award for best center. James White, not a bad pick, I probably would have gone De'Anthony Thomas here (before Stork), he adds some value as a kick returner and adds explosiveness which we really don't have. Would have been worth the homerun chance here, oh well, then go O-Line. Fleming, a nice BIG tackle. Solid 4th round. Apparently BB feels no additions are needed at TE (Gronk questionable) and WR (Dobson questionable). Steelers are DESTROYING this draft, A+ all the way. Additions of Dri Archer and Martavis Bryant make their offense explosive and Shazier and Tuitt add tons of talent to their defense. We need to steal their draft guru.

On James White: last year the team suffered from having nobody behind Shane Vereen. You NEED a pass-catching option out of the backfield. White doesn't have quite the speed of Vereen, but he is an excellent receiver, strong in pass protection, and stout enough to take inside handoffs and keep the defense honest. Very good fit, IMO.

Jeff Janis wr Saginaw for my "was always high on him from the get go selection"

Maybe he is replacing the Woodhead role which I will argue was the far biggest free agent loss of last season.

Dowling, Tripp, Exum, Reid, Jeffcoat, Campanaro, Herring, Janis. Coleman......still a lot of guys I like.

49ers are killing it. that team is loaded.

49ers taking a lottery ticket with Aaron Lynch. I actually like the fit there because he's a 3-4 DE not a 4-3 DE like he tried to play at South Florida. Put some weight back on him, hope he learns from Justin Smith and you may have JJ Watt light in the 5th round. Or he could be a complete bust because his off the field stuff is too much to overcome.

Run on SEC Qb's in the 6th maybe?

It sounds like Mettenberger will be lucky to get drafted

"Mike Loyko ‏@NEPD_Loyko
I was told the other day "The stuff scouts have on Zach Mettenberger makes Ryan Mallett look like Tim Tebow"
"

williamson lb UK titans, wouldnt of minded him

This tells me that Vareen has not recovered from his wrist injury
