Source: Brandon Browner is negotiating a deal with the Patriots. He has no plans to leave Foxboro. Pats are his "priority."

PFT and Schefter lost this round.

So here it is: Redskins people were told Browner visit was cancelled this morning, then back on, then it never happened. He's still in NE.

Twitter sure has changed FA.

Is everyone thinking he moves to S replacing Gregory?

most likely

Seahawks = Legion of Boom

New England = Legion of Dooooooooooom

I think he may play both corner & safety depending on the opponent.

Why are people so adamant he will move to Safety? Has he even played there before?

He's a good CB, why move him? Give Harmon a chance there people.

As others have said..he wouldn't be the #2 CB right away..he would have to earn it here

I think he'll replace him in the lineup. Not to be a smart ass but I'm not sure how many true "safeties" there are these days with the spread/multiple WR offenses. I'm hoping for a 4 CB defense (Revis, Dennard, McCourtey, Browner) and they can switch off all kinds of coverages. Think about our dime with Ryan and Arrington in, that's 6 CB on the field.

I think Browner will be a great signing. He will be able to match up on tight ends in the slot, play physical on the outside and probably play some safety. Imagine the disguised schemes we could run mixing up McCourty and Browner. Wouldn't know which was corner and which was safety.

Such an agonizing day regarding this news. He is all but signed...but wait he is visiting the Skins tomorrow...nope it's cancelled....it's back on...he never went to Washington...he is all but signed. I just want it to be official ASAP.

IF Browner ends up signing. What do you expect happens with Adrian Wilson? Browner and Wilson are two hard hitting dudes (NFCW) style... Would love to see them both roam the middle of the field. Thoughts?

My thoughts exactly. Once the contract numbers come out we will know whether the Pats think he's a CB or Safety.

Depth at safety a little weak after mccorty, browner and harmon. Might no be a bad idea to keep him.

Looking at the big picture on the defensive side, it appears the secondary is getting the attention in FA with the additions of Revis and (in all likelihood) Browner. That will give the Patriots a lot of versatility in the backfield.

I suppose there are a few decent older pass rushers left in FA, but I think the draft will yield reinforcements for the trenches (both OL and DL).

If Wilson has anything left in the tank I'd love him & Browner on the field together delivering the boom to anyone who dare catch the ball :rocker:

Source? He was suspended because of marijuana.

We all excited about Browner because of his hard hitting, able to cover, able to wreck people. That's him playing CB, now imagine him as a SS patrolling around the box. Could work, couldn't work. Doesn't matter, I'm just thrill of seeing him lighting people up in the middle of the field.

Here is a guy that was not drafted, played in the CFL for a number of years, then all of the sudden comes to the NFL and is immediately a star, and then shortly thereafter gets suspended for PEDs (4 games, the later full season suspension was apparently unrelated to PEDs). It's a fact pattern that raises some red flags, at least for me.

I think #24 would open up for Revis.

Adrian wilson Is also 35...I would rather draft another safety and cut him loose. If anything, we could get some cap relief for either this year or next.
