Where's the Beef?
Those of you under the age of 45 or so don't get the reference, I am sure. My kids didn't.
Wendy's had a hugely popular ad campaign in 1984 featuring a grandma (Clara Peller) who gets a competitor's hamburger (presumably McDonalds), pulls of the bun, pauses, then in a gruff voice yells "Where's the Beef"

I get "Where's the Beef" but I don't get how it related to the Patriots winIt didn't even cross my mind that many folks here are too young to remember this. :bricks:
Zo's embarrassing reaction is the very same thing Zo and his sidekick Gresh make fun of with other broadcasters. I love distinctive, fresh and professional reactions to big sporting moments.

I'm not going to say that Zo was unprofessional, but I do think that he really ruined what could have been a great call, it sounds like they let a crazy person into the booth. I know Gil and Geno had to move on out to the radio pasture but man would I have loved to hear their reaction instead.
Well I think the only thing about this that was slightly bothersome is that our poor play-by-play announcer was rejected his chance of an iconic call by Zo's screaming nonsense.
Yet it works somehow. When it happened I was rambling, shaking, and speaking at 100 MPH. I understand Zo losing his composure. It represented the insane excitement of the comeback.
Listening while driving in the car, the call from the Saints radio broadcast team was just as awesome to listen to. When Brady threw the pick one of them said rather excitedly, "Well, that's the nail in the coffin folks. The Saints will go back to New Orleans with a 6-0 record!" Then, after the Brady touchdown pass, a much more dejected, "I don't believe I just saw that. But I did."
Hahahahaha!
