Sign him. He may not cover well but he sure as hell sets the tone.

re: Bernard Pollard is available; released by Ravens

Am I the only one who has serious hate for this guy? I'm sure there have to be at least a handful of Patriots who aren't huge fans of him either, and as a Raven player I can't imagine him being very fond of the Patriots either.

Overrated because Reed would always protect him in coverage. Massive liability who can't do anything but lower his head and smash it against something. He's pretty much a linebacker playing safety. No thanks. We need more coverage, not more run support.

Players, unlike fans, don't generally take things like that seriously. If he can get paid what he wants to play the game of football for the Patriots he'll do it.

Even Suggs would play here, I have no doubt. Though, to be fair, I think Suggs is a guy who is essentially trolling 99% of the time...

re: Bernard Pollard is available; released by Ravens

I'm glad to see that so many of you have come around. He should be signed immediately.

re: Bernard Pollard is available; released by Ravens

Thanks but no thanks for that P.O.S.....

This is hysterical, Ravens now down 4 defensive starters (possibly 5 with Reed) and an offensive starter. They are dismantling like the Marlins after winning the world series.....sure doesn't look like we will have a Superbowl winner repeat....

re: Bernard Pollard is available; released by Ravens

What the heck are they waiting for? Just sign this guy already, if even just to pay him to sit on the couch on Sunday and not on the field injuring Patriot's players.

re: Bernard Pollard is available; released by Ravens

I'll pay for his plane ticket and pick him up at the airport. Sign this man. I don't care that he's a douche he's hurt us way too much and he's not a bad player. Make it happen cap'n

Re: Bernard Pollard is available(Released by Ravens per tweet)

I'd prefer a safety or a LB that could get in the same zip code covering TEs instead. McCourty could do that but he's the FS.

Prediction...Pollard a Jet. You read it here first. Landry's cheaper replacement.

You're not gonna find too many hard hitters who can cover that are available cheap. I'm okay with Pollard not being good in coverage if he can deliver some hits. Maybe he can rotate in and out with another good cover safety.

Belichick should sign and then cut him one day before opening day when everybody's roster is set to see how much he likes watching TV on Sundays.

they should sign him...but they won't

Re: Bernard Pollard is available(Released by Ravens per tweet)

I want him. We need a safety that can clobber people and instill that attitude into the D. If he comes here and helps us win the Super Bowl, all the other stuff is forgiven. And spare me the "this guy can't cover" argument...neither can Gregory AND Gregory isn't a big hitter.

Spikes and Pollard causing fumbles in the middle of the field on whatever offensive player they come across? Sign me up!

I apologize if this has been addressed --i read the first four pages here...

But, given Pollard's very favorable contract, why isn't he being TRADED by the Ravens... Why cut? I'd certainly like to see the Pats pick up this contract.

does cutting pollard mean they are bringing back reed? Other wise they are completely bare back there

Top of pg 6 explains that Pollard may have been seen as a locker room troublemaker

He's cheaper than Landry was for the Jets was my point

Do NOT want

I'm a fan of the team not the team's owner or GM and do not want players I despise

i want this guy on my team

he's a killer

Thanks. This does explain the cut... and if the word is out on the why of it, they wd probably get almost nothing in return for a TRADE. Very interesting development. We'll see how it all plays out. Remember how the Steelers used to just drop their clubhouse jerks, seems like Ravens are following suit

I want that guy on my team like I want the plague. Sign him and make him a healthy scratch every game. Or don't sign him at all. Can't stand the feller.

Guess I misunderstood your point. Seems like too many people want a safety who can hit hard and cover and want him cheap. I just want to win I'm okay with having some douchebags. Would be a nightmare to have Pollard join the division.

Can Kraft pay him to retire? Nothing Pats related, just a "gift" with a contractual obligation
