I'm torn on Henne. When he first started for us in '09, he set the world on fire, then he fell apart in December. Last year, he got off to another hot start and really, REALLY fizzled in December.

But now I watch him in the pre-season for the first time without Dan Henning (who is the worst OC of all time) and he looks refreshed. He has better pocket mobility, the ball is coming out a lot quick, and we're stretching the field (that 60 yard TD pass to Marshall never would've happened last year.)

But he does have some serious lapses. And I think Mark Sanchez is dog **** as well, you'll get no argument out of me there.

We shall see. I think it'll be a CLOSE game, at least until late. I think the Patriots come away winning in something like a 27-20 contest; but never really in danger of losing.

So Sanchez is dog****, but Henne looks great this pre-season.

I love Dolphin fans

Dolphins offensively will be worse than last year. I think losing both Ronnie Brown and Williams will have a residual effect, and your OL is a huge question mark, compared to last year. Long is coming back from injury who has barely played in the pre-season, as mentioned, your running game will take a huge step back. You can talk about Bush's speed all you want, he can't run between the tackles, and on a team with a shaky OL, his ability and potential is neutralized. Your rookie RB has struggled this pre-season, and your TE's are average at best. Marshall is a stud, but you have nothing else beside him. Daboll is nothing special, but I tend to agree with the notion he will probably be a refreshing change from Henning, but it remains to be seen what Daboll will do with that offense.

Miami's defense is their only bright spot, they are solid up front, Wake is a nice player on the outside, decent to solid players up front. LB is probably Miami's weaker position, next to Dansby, the position has some question marks. Von Davis is a nice looking young CB, Smith is an unknown, great athlete, but lacks football IQ and instincts, safety position is a question mark with the elder Bell and Clemons, still overall, defense will be pretty good, but how long they can carry your offense, without a good running game to control the TOP remains to be seen.

BTW, you can sit there and try and pimp Henne all you want, there is a reason why reports are out today that the Phins are interested in Garrard, and were interested in Orton.

Your coaching staff, especially Sparano is a clown, fist pump is in over his head, and is a lame duck. Pray the Giants are successful this year and you get a shot at Cowher.

Oh, and Miami fans, sorry, worst fans in the league, the biggest myopic fan base in the country, and they can't even fill up the stadium.

At least Ross will give the fans a good halftime show with his celebrity ownership regime.

I'm sorry, but I just have to: :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

A Jets fan calling Miami fans the worst in the league??? Clearly someone who has never actually been at a Jets game... Jets fans are well known as ***clowns who lambaste kids as well as adults...

Hell, I rate Jets fans below Raider fans and Redskin fans...

Hey, man. No hard feelings. Going back over my attitude and demeanor of the early days (yes, I did think Daunte Culpepper was the savior,) I was a douche. I was young, and I wasn't very bright.

I'm here to talk football and objectively. No hard feelings to any one and yes, this is Aqua4Ever04 for those that remember. I seek forgiveness, and wish to prohibit banashiment. Lol
I remember those 'Culpepper is better than Brady' posts. Two years later I was sooooo thankful you guys picked Culpepper instead of Brees.

Oh, and "welker is nothing-Marty Booker is our best receiver.'

Welcome back. Hope the Fins knock the Jests out of second place.

those were all time classics:D just a matter of time before hes booted once again.

Reggie Bush is going to be a factor in this game,he will be a 3rd down demon like Faulk is here...if we cant stop Bush catching out of the backfield and cant cover Marshall who is on a mission to be great again,it could be a long night.

Our front 3/4 is going to decide this game,Haynesworth is going to have to be his old self,we need him to be

god only knows how they'll replace Ronnie Brown's 3.7 YPC.

is this a old thread?

It was started yesterday so that makes it a day old.

I look at the fins depth chart and this game is not going to be a cake walk down there. Henne is the wild card.

You'd be even more proud if you had joined this board back in 2006. Me coming to this site used to be like if Osama Bin Laden walked into the Oval Office.

Because you're a Welcher.

I know! Don't you just hate delusional fans...

Welcome back Wide_Receiver!

Welcome back - its good to have known quantities as visiting fans - especially if they bring good controversies and intelligent conversation like Pherein for the Saints.

I think this games is going to be really close and could go either way - it will really depend on how well each team gels. This is where the short pre-season and lack of OTAs will hurt the unprepared teams.

I actually have the Fins ending the season in 2nd place, which of course is heresy at ESPN, as I think you have a better D than the Jets, since they have lost key people on both sides of the ball. I also think Marshall is more of an every down WR than Holmes. I was listening to WFAN yesterday (I live too close to NY to have a better alternative) and a Finfan was debating with Francesca that the Fins had the better D. Francesca agreed on the front 7 but said it was far apart on the secondary, although he was only really thinking of Revis and Cromartie. Davis is very good and your safeties are as good if not better than the Jets.

As for Monday night's game I think the advantage lies with the Fins and I would not be surprised if they pulled out a win, though of course I will be pulling for a Pats victory all the way.

I will be rooting for the Dolphins...........

(weeks 6 & 17)

prediction for the top postgame topics of conversation in the Miami media:

Were the Patriots trying to run up the score?
Why was Brady playing in the 4th quarter?
When can the Dolphins sign Garrard?

Typical dolphin fan, making excuses for the 2 blowout losses against us last season.

Hummm, Seems to me that alot of "ball washing" is going on here. I'm getting a feeling of negativity on what should be a positive ATTITUDE for OUR team going forward to Monday night. The players do look at these comments and its the wrong signal to send. I'm sure the coach is doing all he can to prepare for this game without anybody trying to undermine him. Doubting is weakness and plays for our opponent.

Gotta say, it's a pleasure to see good humored football focused discussion about two teams that are actually going to play a meaningfull football game just days from now.

Life is good!

Apparently rookie RB Daniel Thomas is banged up, so Miami has signed Larry Johnson; I hadn't even noticed that he was with the Dolphins in training camp.

Larry Johnson back with the Miami Dolphins: What's it mean? | Sun-Sentinel

So what does this move indicate? A couple things.

For one, it’s likely not coincidental that Johnson returns on a day when Thomas spent the initial part of practice working with the training staff (practice is ongoing, and is now closed, so I can’t tell you what he’s doing now – but it’s not likely, I’d guess, that he’ll get much work in). With Thomas hobbled, and with his status perhaps in doubt for the season-opener on Monday night against the Patriots, the Dolphins had to do something to address the running back situation.

Another thing this move indicates: The Dolphins indeed liked Johnson.

I haven't seen Johnson play in a while, but last I saw him he was running like a guy with a whole lot of tread worn off those tires.

I was thinking about making a thread on this game yesterday, since nobody was talking about it. IMO, this could be a closer game than people are giving it credit for. The game in Miami last year was one that we really could have lost without our special teams stepping up in the second half. On top of that, Brady and the offense typically have problems down there and the Dolphins have a strong defense. I expect the Patriots to win, but I don't expect them to walk away with it like so many others do.

IMO, Miami loses it on the O-Line and with Henne.

First week of the season always concerns me, especially against a division opponent on the road. (See the Buffalo scare of a few years ago in which the Pats could have easily lost it - some would say SHOULD have...) 2 healthy OTs, one being a rookie, concerns me, but it is only Thurs so we'll see if that sticks.

I think it will be a sloppy first game. Score will be low and close and it will be decided by a few big defensive and/or special teams plays. Win or lose, we will all be concerned on Tuesday AM, then we'll have a surprise blowout of the Chargers in week 2 at home as a sigh of relief.
