This issue of respect...

Why are people so concerned about "respect" all the time?

I actually had someone on the Internet tell me I have lost their respect, as though they thought that would really matter to me!

Keep things in perspective people...

Internet chat boards are just places to spout opinions and have some fun and diss and rag a little...

"Respect" from Internet board posters is overrated!

We don't even really know anything about each other, save for the poop that we blow all over these boards!

"Internet board respect" has got to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

It's right up there with these athletes that get in the media and talk about "feeding my familiy" and getting "mine" and getting "respect"!

All we do is side or not side with each other based on who agrees with who on that issue at that moment and who doesn't, so why sweat it...

Follow two rules, so you can live a more meaningful life:

1. Rule 62 - Stop taking yourself so seriously!

2. Always just say how you feel and let the chips fall where they may!

And. most of all, please concentrate on earning your respect in life from your God and your family and your employer and your friends and the people you love and care for...

If you're seeking respect on Internet Boards, you really need to, as the shrinks like to say, "take a look at yourself"!

I aree with you 100 percent but what you need to understand is that there are a lot of lonely people in the world. My guess is that some people come to these boards and spend so much time on them because they have no real friends of their own. Sure, I check out the board but some people are on here ALL the time. I mean, it's obvious they have no friends to talk with or probably never kissed a girl before. Coming on here and talking football is the only place where they feel they belong. So, if you were that alone and had no real human beings to share feelings with, you would probably care about "Internet Respect" as well. I guess we are just two of the lucky ones that actually talk to real people.

Well Armen, ya know you are in bad company when this ****** agrees with you. I am guessing that this whole thread was started because of what I posted. Think about one thing. If you honestly didn't care about poster's resapect on this board, then this thread would have never happened. The fact is that this board is a major player in the Pats media. Big names stop by here to get ideas. Where else can someone go to get up to the minute Pats info like this board. Yes, there are others out there, but this one used to lead the pack by far. Recently it has lost ground. The questions is, "Why has this board lost ground or even lost much credibility in the Pats community?" The answer is respect. Respect as in the quality of ideas, thoughs, news, info, and even speculation. While some may view this board as a "fun" time to see how stupid they can be, some people actually use a board like this to make a living reporting on the Pats. Some people respect this board because when they open a post, they are getting the quality info that they were searching for. What is wrong with keeping this standard? That is respect. It is simple. Granted, all of us have bad posts once in a while or even more often then not, but your post about the Ghost wasn't like that at all. While you may have meant your criticism as humor, maybe people dont think tearing down the rookie is funny. To go to an extreme and call for another kicker because he hasn't been perfect in 4 games is foolishness. You deserved the response you got in that other thread.

If you are a day older than 12 years old, I would be surprised.
