3 Pats make Wes Bunting's all-rookie team 2010

And, by the way, the graphic that gave the Pats the A- summed up their '10 draft as "two 1s and two 2s next year."

It's sometimes frustrating that all this trading has been spun as the Patriots not making picks. This for a team that has selected 24 players the past two years, with last year's class potentially being good overall and this year's potentially being very good. I guess it's easier for some of the weaker analysts to focus on all the trading than the actual players chosen.

Funny thing there is that we actually drafted more players in the first three rounds of this draft than the number of picks we entered the draft with in those rounds. we entered with a one, three twos and no threes and left with a first round pick, three second round picks, one third round pick and we added a second round pick next year and other picks later in the day too.

I am still in awe of the manuevering pulled off in this draft. If when time goes by we look back at this and see several contributors than this may turn out to be the best draft ever (obviously the talent will determine that but they have a had start with the success of the trades)

Dunlap was a beast, adept at playing the pass and the run.

Cunningham was a slow pass rusher only. Teams ate him alive by running at him. I have no idea why BB took Cunningham, but God help us if he is ever in coverage. Some offensive linemen are faster than him.

If Cunningham and Spikes were running the forty in a race, you would need to bring a chair and a pillow in order to catch some sleep before that race ends.

Can you imagine how happy Spiller (4.2) is going to be when he plays the Pats and sees Spikes (5.0) and Cunningham (4.9) on the other side of the ball?

Cunningham is quicker than a 4.9 and Spikes had a well publicized groin injury. Even then, though, speed shouldn't hurt Spikes. Remember now that 40 year old Junior Seau still excelled in this defense as an ILB.

Seems like Seau was 40 from about 37 on...

Also, while Spikes' 40 time was terribad he actually had a good 3 cone drill. And that test tells a lot more about a player's athletic ability on the field.

Someone (Ochmed) is apparently subscribing to the Albert Breer school of draft class evaluation.

Do you do this just to troll us?

Spiller might be happy about that, but he can't be too happy about the Pats drafting the best college corner in run support.

Cunningham had a pull or something and didn't finish his pro day events. There's another thread...

with times from 4.59 to 4.7 ish.

He's plenty quick on those vids where he gets the same number of sacks as Dunlap, so if he slows down the other thirty yards, I don't care.

Not sure, but that Cody looks like an obese blimp who will wash out of the league in a few years, so we'll see.

Ochmed, I still find it odd that you harp on Spikes' and Cunningham's 40 times while pining for Cody, who had the absolute worst across-the-board measurables of any significant draft prospect in memory. If it's all about trusting your eyes over the stopwatch and tape measure, fine -- but then could you give us some insight based on what you saw of the Florida boys on the field, instead?

Yes ma'am, Ochmed is a joke. Have any of you seen the pics of Cody with no shirt? Jeebus...the dude looks like a 50 year old woman who breast-fed for 40 years....

Combine numbers and 40 times mean nothing, what did I say? NOTHING. It's all about skill (read:brains) and FULL pad football speed.

I honestly think this is the best draft the Patriots have EVER had, including Brady. This class has me just salavating over the start of the new season, and hopefully how much I will get to rub it in to these stupid Colt fans I live and deal with daily.

What's your 40 time Ochmed? We know what your football skill is...(read:brains).

I can't fault him for pining for Cody. Do you have any idea how hard it will be to run on the Ravens now?

I don't think it will be too hard to run against the Ravens, their defense is old as Moses now. As long as you can dodge a Cody boobie, your fine =P

Yeah, I'm not a Cody hater, I just don't get waving away his utterly pathetic all-around measurables while pouncing on a single questionable number for the Florida LBs.

Ochmed is a very knowledgeable up-close observer of college football. I'd like to hear what he actually saw of Spikes and Cunningham, good or bad.

Landry - 27
Reed - 31
Washington - 26
Foxworth - 26
Suggs - 27
Johnson - 28
Lewis - 34
Gooden - 25
Edwards - 28
Ngata - 25
Gregg - 33

Moses must be a relatively young man. The Ravens were #1 against the run last year, allowing 3.4 ypc.

Nice sir, foot...meet mouth. I don't follow them much and didn't think they were that young on D.

I still do not think "man-boobs" Cody will make a difference, can you get better than #1?

Well, they could lower the YPC. However, if you look at it, it's likely that Cody will be expected to replace Gregg, meaning that the middle of that defense will consist of Ngata (about 345 lbs) and Cody (about 3,450 lbs). That could make running inside a suicide mission.

There was a subtle,back-stage war going on between BB and Ozzie, during the Draft, this year.

This team is downright, scary.Imo,the New Jerseys are in for a rude awakening in their first game at the new Giant's stadium.

Seriously the Ravens really scare me

Let's not forget about their offense either, and the fact that they just added Boldin and Stallworth
