Re: Former Rams S Willie Gary files lawsuit against Pats

Alzado died of complications from HIV. He lied and blamed steroids because it made him sound a lot tougher than AIDS ("Are you a homosexual, Mr. Alzado?").

In other words, he DID NOT "man up". He lied--over and over and over.

Google it and check out some evidence.

Unless you'd rather just use false examples to take cheap shots at the best NFL coach ever--but if that's what you want to do, why not just type "BB is a horrible person" a dozen times and let it go at that?

I did what you suggested and found no info that he was gay or died of aids. Please list your source.

Re: Former Rams S Willie Gary files lawsuit against Pats

He should do it to because he did not do it when he should have. He would not have to buy any time they would provide it for free. I am sure of that.

That presupposes he should have "done it" before, but the bone of contention here is that even tho he 'fessed up, he didn't grovel enough to satisfy the S & M crowd here. He got fined (big time), was publicly ridiculed and humiliated over something that was relatively insignificant, admitted publicly his mistake, and said he was moving on, implying the rest of us should take the high road and follow suit.

But the simple fact of the matter is, he'd done nothing - NOTHING - that warranted the kind of "apology" you and your ilk are seeking.

But even given that, we had accusation, administrative review, finding of guilt, determination of punishment and it's subsequent allocation, admission of guilt by the accused party, and then...end of saga.

Or, at least, that's how it usually goes.

But like I say, that's just not good enough for a lot of people who really should know better.

You think he'd get free TV time for this? Are you serious? He's not running for high public office, and there are lots of times the networks won't carry a presidential news briefing or press conference because it's not deemed "newsworthy" or important enough.

You're really rather new to all this stuff, aren't you?

Re: Former Rams S Willie Gary files lawsuit against Pats

No, no, no, no. You're pulling an Oprah moment on us, just like I asked you not to.

Quite apart from a.paul's post at #53, you now want to equate this camera flap with the steroids problem in general, and Alzado's roid rages in particular? And you want to place Bill Belichick on the same pedestal as Richard Nixon?

Incredible!

Seriously, now, to reclaim a measure of your lost credibility, please address the question as originally stated. Give us something firm, something valid, something rooted in real life. Don't give us "feelings"!

Just show us a case when this tactic has been successfully employed, and what the outcome was. We may not agree with you, but at least we won't think you're blowing smoke out of your arse....

No Oprah here...he cheated, paid the price and admitted it. You may not like it because it answers your challenge. I called your bluff.

OK another one...Jose Canseco.

Have you ever heard of ESPN? You seriously do not think Chris Berman would not give him free face time for an interview to explain him self. Take your lips off Bill's balls.

Rab Lier..you lie. Why do you lie?

http://www.elitefitness.com/hulkster/may97.html

"Lyle first started noticing signs of something wrong the second day after his marriage to his new wife...when he became dizzy and passed out. Doctors later revealed a VERY..VERY.."RARE" form of brain cancer...T-cell lymphoma. This type of disorder immune deficiency has never appeared on any other steroid user in history to date. Interesting huh???

Lyle soon dropped down to 215 pounds.. then eventually even lower. He started chemotherapy.. lost all of this hair (hence, the head bands!)...and was later consumed.

There is much speculation today as to what the actual cause of death was. No one is really certain. Lyle died.. and was buried the next morning. No services. Very hush-hush and quick.

In 1993, I had a rare opportunity to meet with a very famous athlete, coach, and human being, who relegates to and knows Joe Weider very well. This is a famous person I’m talking about, with incredible integrity and honesty. I met with this person right before his death and we talked briefly about Lyle's death. This person, who knows Lyle's family personally, told me face to face, that his death was AIDS related, and not from steroids or growth hormone. That Lyle had led to some degree an alternative lifestyle which led to his demise.

Alzado died of Primary Brain Lymphoma (PBL), which is a very rare brain cancer, but is recognized as an AIDS-defining condition.

Further, there are no studies - I repeat, no studies - linking brain cancer to steroid use. Indeed, steroids are often prescribed to battle the cancer in these patients.

It is likely he died of an AIDS-related condition, in which case, he was not "manning up" when he decided to "come clean".

So you slander a dead guy and we are supposed to take your word? Next you'll tell us Abe Lincoln was gay and died of aids.

It just amazing how homophobia is the knee jerk reaction to slander a guy. Let's just assume you guys are right that he died of an aids related illness. Why could it not be from the needles he used to inject the steroids?

99,999 articles mention no aids or homosexuality. 1 articles mentions possible aids issue and one loser throws in some comments from a source he can not name. In order to defend yourselves you ignore the 99,999 articles and go with the obscure.

Re: Former Rams S Willie Gary files lawsuit against Pats

A little off topic, but when the Oilers were in the second round of the 2006 playoffs, they actually had to ask TSN (Canada's ESPN) to not report a rumour that our star defenseman, Chris Pronger, wanted a trade in the summer. A month later before the Stanley Cup Final started, the network that broadcasts the majority of Oiler games started dropping hints by asking Pronger if he was going to be on the team next season. For two networks that became huge Oiler followers because they wanted to see the Cup back in Canada, they sure didn't act like it. At a time when the focus should have been on the team's incredible run to the Final, the media was attempting to stir the pot.

My point with the above paragraph is the media has and always will be unfair because they want ratings and hits, and they want to be the first to report it. It's an absolute joke -- they don't care how credible their source is. Look at that fat ****er from the Herald that reported the walkthrough ****. He cited an unnamed source... no mention (until people started e-mailing him) of someone that was spotted spying on the Patriots final practice before SB XXXVI, even though team and league officials confirmed it. Why wouldn't this be reported? Because the Rams haven't done a thing since then; no one would give a ****. Now they are giving this Gary douchebag some attention because it puts more **** on the Patriots.

And Specter can **** off. We're all sorry that Philadelphia hasn't won a professional sports title since 1981, but shut up already. Nevermind that McNabb was puking in the huddle or Andy Reid's horrific clock management, or that Freddie Mitchell couldn't walk the walk. Nah, the Patriots must have won with a videotape.

****.

I know I have a minority opinion here, but I would very much enjoy seeing an all-out Congressional investigation. IMHO, the best way to get the heat off the Patriots is for other teams to get taken down too.

I am damn sick and tired of the public perception that NE was the only team engaging in such behavior. Let's see some scorched earth...

I'm with you. I want to see Congressional hearings and BB and some other coaches up there and I want to see BB bury the entire league.

We are tired of being the friggin whipping boy for the NFL when everyone damn well knows that the whole league did this crap.

Bring on the circus!

Rams got away w/ 12 men on field -- let's sue them!!

i saw this morning some rams player is suing the pats for $100MM for taping their practise before the super bowl. i mean how silly is this really. i blame specter for this latest round of BS. does this mean every time a team gets away with a rules violation you can sue them? what if game film shows they got away with 12 men on the field for a play? can we sue them? how stupid is all this?

APNewsNow: Lawsuit seeks compensation for Super Bowl loss

February 15, 2008
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A lawsuit filed Friday by a former St. Louis Rams player and others seeks millions of dollars in damages from the alleged taping of Rams practices by the New England Patriots before the 2002 Super Bowl.

The Patriots won the game 20-17 in the Superdome.

The $100 million suit, filed on behalf of former Rams player Willie Gary in U.S. District Court in New Orleans, names the Patriots, team owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick.

Or misogyny, e.g. Olberwoman.

It's pathetic.

I have not read this entire thread so forgive me if this has been brought up. Can a Packers fan sue to get the NFL to toss out Denver's 98 Superbowl victory? Salary cap cheating is a clear advantage and not something all teams do. Or am I wrong here?
