Vrabel nudging his way to the Hall of Fame?

Brady's not going to be the only 4 time Patriot champion going in the hall. He'll definitely have some company.
However, Vrabel will not be one of them. Richard Seymour and Ty Law have a better chance than Mike Vrabel.

........... Mike Vrabel isn't even close. Heck, Mike Vrabel couldn't even sniff Andre Tippett's jock let alone Steve Nelson.

The only reason Tippett is near HOF is due to his employ now with the New England Patriots plus the PR campaign the club has waged on his behalf. Count me as clueless too, I'll take Vrabel over Nelson any day.

Vrabel really has no chance at the HOF. It's really hard to get in these days and you aren't going to make it without lots of individual recognition - namely a string of pro bowls.

Charles Haley has 5 Super Bowl rings and over 100 career sacks, and always gets consideration for the Hall of Fame, but never actually voted in. Don't see it happening for Vrabel.

Im telling you, years from now when there arent many quality candidates, as is the case many years, a slew of these multiple ring Patriots will get some strong consideration. Im not talking about 1st ballot or anything close to that. Im saying down the road. Individual awards are nice. Rings are the measuring stick. And Charles Haley will be getting in the hall very soon. If he werent such a nutcase, he would have already gotten in.

What does that say about Vrabel's chances then? Tippet was a vastly superior player to Vrabel.

At this point I don't think that Vrabel is a HOFer. He needs to have at least two more good years and at least one pro bowl and maybe one or two rings

Cmon guys, be objective. Has he been a top 5 LB in ANY year in his career?? Hell, top 10?? Do you know the can of worms that would get opened if a Vrabel is inducted?? You suddenly have a long list of players not inducted thinking WTF?? Not to mention the teams those players have their legacy attached to.

As a key defensive component of the Patriots dynasty, the only thing Mike Vrabel lacks to make a great case for the HOF are post season individual awards. IMO, he is equal to or more deserving than Richard Seymour at this point.

Well if he goes in, it should be as a Steeler. They are the ones who drafted him.

The Pats just had to pick up the Steelers' recycled goods.

In for sure:
Brady
Belichick
Seau

A few more good years should seal it:
Moss
Seymour
Law

Probably not (longshot):
McGinest
Harrison
Dillon
Vrabel

Too Young to Say/Needs a lot more time:
Mankins
Samuel
Warren

That's my opinion, at least, off the top of my head.

Players don't go into the HoF 'as' any team, idiot. And what does it say about the Steelers that their 'recycled goods' are better than any of the LBs on their actual roster?

Moss should be in IMO. A dominant, game changing WR. If TO is in, Moss is in. Also, I'd take Seymour out of the few more good years should seal it category. He really needs to get his career back on track to have a shot at it. And when I say on track, I mean like he was in 2001-2004. He's not playing at that level right now.

Yeah, this is becoming a popular opinion, and its pure lunacy. In the history of the game, only 4 NFL WRs have had 17 TDs in any given season. Moss had done that THREE times, something even Jerry Rice never accomplished. He's had 10 NFL seasons, 2 of them were good but not great(2004,2005) and one bad, last year. The other 7 seasons were All Pro seasons. Not only that, but in those 7 seasons he was arguably considered the best WR in the game. From '98 until 2004 if you asked who was the best WR in the game as that season was happening, Moss would win each year. And now in 2007, its Moss again. So when you're arguably considered the best WR of your generation, and you're still only 30, its a safe bet to call you a HOF lock.

But alas...he's Randy Moss. It cant be that easy.

Um...that was a pretty obvious joke.

People get so defensive and bent out of shape sometimes...

Moss will be in, don't sweat it. Moss is way more qualified than Vrabel. The only thing that would keep Moss out is if he commits a serious crime or some really egregious act.
