Generally good stuff but :

"My one big question from the New England offseason still endures: When push comes to second-half shove, will the Patriots defense be stout enough to stop the Colts? Last year, in the second half of the AFC title game, the Patriots let Indy drive the ball 76, 76, 67, 59 and 80 yards to score. My feeling is the Pats will be better, even though in a personnel sense they're not going to be much different from the team that allowed 32 points in the last 25 minutes of the championship game. How much better, though?"

That's just silly considering we have "added" Thomas, Seau, Harrison, Wilson who were out and Bruschi and Colvin who missed a lot of the second half.

And then on his continuning trend of making things up :

"by the way, my lame attempt at satire in the Monday column didn't work. I wrote that Manning charted every pass play of every Sunday game, which he did not do. Just a joke. Boy, am I funny."

That didn't come across as satire AT ALL yesterday. What a joke King has become.

The Pats had a couple of important but under-the-radar additions on offense, too.

I thought that was a strange comment too, why would Manning chart quarterbacks, shouldn't he be watching the defenses instead?

But I thought what King wrote was true, he needs to stop making things up and stick to the facts, this is like the second or third time he done this already this season.

Rivers?

Eckel?

Ahhhhh... you're talking about Morris. You seem to forget he's out right now.

Unless I'm forgetting about someone else?

I figured it was a joke. But yeah, he doesn't deliver that kind of thing well. Or maybe he just hasn't established the precedent.

Now if he wrote that Manning was charting all the COMMERCIALS, then I would've believed it.

i would like king to read easterbrook's column today and react. he claimed he was a big fan of his in the past.

... interesting, so little focus on the additions and subtractions of the Colts as well as missing the boat on the Patriots additions
